It was yet another moment that sparked fierce debate in the United States over Donald Trump's immigration crackdown as ICE agents detained a five year old boy.  

Liam Ramos and his father were taken from their home in Minneapolis last month and sent to a Texas immigration facility for detained families.

The federal government claims Liam's father entered the US illegally from Ecuador in December 2024, but the family's lawyer says he has a pending asylum claim that allows him to stay in the US.
