It was a true honor to have the one and only, Jeff Plankenhorn kick off Season 3 of Chilling on the Southide. Jeff is a multi-instrumentalist and one of the main members of local ATX band the Resentments. The Resentments have had a Sunday residency at the Saxon Pub for nearly decades. Not only has Jeff designed his own slide guitar called “The Plank” but he’s quite an amazing show host too! His voice is also solid gold both speaking and singing! Be sure to check him out everywhere from Spotify to Facebook and beyond. [https://jeffplankenhorn.com/](https://jeffplankenhorn.com/

In this 10th episode of our second season, Mike travels to the Northside to try a new spin-off segment called "Roasting off the Northside". He is joined by his great friends and colleagues Pat and Eric who live on the Northside of Austin and bring a good recipe of podcast chaos and disaster. What started as a disc themed day with disc golf and disced tacos, turned into an impromptu podcast session that takes us on a journey no podcast and podcast audience has ever gone before. We always love to hear your comments, ratings and feedback especially on these raw and "off the cuff" episodes. Thanks so much for listening and until next time, take care of yourselves and each other!
In this very fun on-site episode Mike, Wallace and team hang out on the southside with the ladies of Headspace Salon and Co-op for a very rich and comical interview. Mike and Wallace are taken for quite a ride through some fun twists and turns. Besides many local food and music recommendations, we hear from Headspace owner Laura about her journey growing up in Austin and how she made her co-op idea a reality bringing together local stylists, artists, designers and creators. We also got to meet Tiny, the new head of security while we were there. Last but not least, we talk about some of the very cool house plants that you can purchase right at the store. 2020 is finally over and while we as a nation are still flirting with disaster, GA has just won it for the Dems, the US Capitol was overrun by a mob and Trump just got all his social media suspended!! Mike is assisted by Nora subbing in on the cohost slot for this super rich and intriguing episode. Our interview was recorded just around the 2020 election and we learned so much about restorative justice from our wonderful and local ATX defense attorney, Channing Neary! Channing plays a huge part in the Texas Harm Reduction Alliance. We were privileged enough to record this ep all together safely in the backyard and it was such a beautiful day. :) There were also quite an array of topics we touch on as we explore the more personal side of Channing and how she chills on the southside. This episode will surely take you on a journey of humanity. Learn more at texasharmreductionalliance.org

Where were you the day Biden was declared President-elect? We were huddled around our microphones ready to digest the events of the week with skilled documentary filmmaker, David Modigliani.
David broke onto the scene with Crawford, a film about the people of the small Texas town, in the wake of President George W. Bush's relocation amid his announcement for his presidential candidacy. Many are also familiar with his most notable 2019 HBO Documentary, Running with Beto, which traces the campaign of Beto O'Rourke - a candidacy which inspired many and came close to turning a red state blue. More recently, David released the documentary short, Dress Rehearsal, which examined the first real attempt to organize for a campaign at the outbreak of the pandemic and explores how organizers and activists tackled voter suppression to bring out an upset win in the Wisconsin Supreme Court election.
David tells us his take on the presidential election, some favorite listens and watches, and shares the story of how he first met with presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke. Go ahead and jump in to this intriguing chat to cure your election hangover! ~ Be sure to check out our new FB @ facebook.com/ChillingOTS
