Xu Fang had heard the Plague Array was gone. He was so scared he didn’t sleep all night. At first light, killing shouts shook the earth. Drums thundered, cries rose in waves. He climbed the wall to defend and saw Zhou troops all around—cloud ladders, cannons, all in place—fierce as a storm.

Lei Zhenzi flew above and smashed an enemy tower with one swing. Nuh-zhah rode the wind-fire wheels up to the wall. The defenders fell back in fear. Xu Fang couldn’t hold them and rushed down. Nuh-zhah broke the gate lock with one thrust, and Zhou soldiers poured in.

Zhun-Ti Dao-ren said, “To be frank, I came to the southeast to seek those with ties, but found none. Then, several times, I saw a hundred red shafts rising in the southeastern sky. That meant a destined meeting. I came to ferry them—and to visit our friends of Jyeh Jee-ow.”
Lao-Jun said, “Your coming fits the omen.”
Zhun-Ti asked, “Those four swords inside the array are innate supreme treasures. How did they all end up in Jyeh Jee-ow hands?”

Jiang-Zi-Ya admitted him. The boy said, “I am a disciple from Qian-Yuan Mountain, Golden-Light Cave, under Tie-ee Jen-ren. Master sent me to carry Nuh-zhah back to the mountain for treatment.”
Yang Jian studied it a long time. “This is poison—but I don’t know what kind.”

Jiang-Zi-Ya left with Wei-Hu, Nuh-zhah, and three thousand men. After several days’ march, they reached Jia-Meng Pass. They set up camp outside but saw no sign of Hong-Jin’s forces.
Inside his main tent, Jiang-Zi-Ya waited. Soon, Hong-Jin heard he had arrived and hurried over with his soldiers. He and Princess Long-Ji entered the tent, knelt, and confessed their failure. They explained everything—from how they met the Fire Spirit Holy Mother to how they were injured.

At dawn the scouts returned. Huang Tianhua was dead. Nuh-zhah and Lei Zhenzi were missing. Hwung Fay Hoo fainted with grief. Nan Gongshi advised him, “Do not drown in sorrow. Gao Jinen fights with wasps. Only Chong-Ho-Hoo can break that trick. Go ask him for help.” Hwung Fay Hoo left at once for Chong City.

In Chong City, Chong-Ho-Hoo heard that Huang Tianhua had been killed and grew angry. “Then we fight Kong Xuan together,” he said. “After the win we go on to Mengjin.”

Zhao Ge still did not learn the lesson and kept sending troops. A new general arrived—Hong Jin. He was skilled in magic and used a trick called the flag-gate escape, drawing enemies into a black flag to kill them. Even Ji Shuming of Xi Qi died by his hand. Later, Princess Longji came out, used a white flag to break his art, chased him all the way to the North Sea, summoned a divine Kun, and brought him back alive.

Beaten, Yin Jyow fell back to camp—then met help from Luo Xuan, the Flame-Within Immortal of Fire Dragon Island, and Liu Huan of Nine-Dragon Island. That night they used fire-escape magic. The Ten-Thousand-Crow Jar, fire dragons, and Cloud-and-Smoke rockets set Xi Qi blazing on all sides. Smoke covered the sky. People cried in terror. Wu King Ji Fa knelt and begged Heaven to spare the people. In the sea of flames, a white light shot across the sky—no one knew if it meant rescue or fresh disaster. Jiang-Zi-Ya wanted to draw North Sea water, but it was too far; Xi Qi was on the brink.

At the west gate, Li Qi drove in with three thousand and ran headlong into Nuh-zhah. The two clashed so hard the walls seemed to tilt.

Yellow Dragon Jen-ren shouted, “Lu Yue! Rushing into Xiqi is a fish jumping into the pot, a bird flying into the net. You came to your own end!”
Lu Yue saw who it was and laughed, “And what can you do? You dare shout at me?”
