With unrivaled expertise and a passion for innovation, Joe and Julian take us on a journey of discovery, sharing their thoughts on the transformative power of technology in coaching. They challenge our assumptions and paint a compelling picture of the opportunities and pitfalls that lie ahead.
Throughout the episode, we explore the significance of being open-minded and embracing new ideas, as Julian's Spot beautifully demonstrates. We learn from Joe's experiences, as he reflects on missed opportunities due to skepticism about new technology. They make a powerful case for the importance of breaking free from limited views and exploring the possibilities that new technology offers.

The speaker shares their experiments with this AI-powered chatbot, using it to capture conversations and insights during coaching sessions. We discover how Chat GPT provides valuable summaries and helps improve coaching engagements, sparking new reflections and perspectives.

Join us as we journey beyond the pages of coaching expertise, amplifying the conversation on AI in coaching, and gaining valuable insights from Joe Dunn and Julian Humphreys. In today’s episode, I’m speaking with writing coach, Jonathan Reitz, who is the author of an article in our latest issue “Technology & AI ~ Will it support or replace human coaching?" His article is entitled: The Revolution of AI in Coaching ~There's nothing artificial about it.
Using a chatbot or other artificial intelligence source, a coach offers a client benefits that would not be possible without technology. Large language models – like the core algorithm behind ChatGPT and GPT-4 – offer statistically plausible suggestions or conversational prompts that frame a coaching conversation.
Coaches might use these tools to prepare for a coaching session by developing a list of potential questions or evaluating their word choices afterward. Automating coach-client interaction between sessions may build accountability, and a results focus. Enter the term “coach augmentation.”
Current research shows that chat-based coaching tools are already delivering meaningful client results.
In this podcast, we will discuss how coaches can use AI to augment their coaching and help facilitate more light bulb moments for the client.
Jonathan Reitz, MCC, ACTC is FLUXIFY's Director for Training/CEO. He holds the Master Certified Coach (MCC) credential and the Advanced Certification in Team Coaching (ACTC) in the International Coaching Federation. He’s also the co-founder of the Team Coaching Global Alliance, and a top-rated speaker at the World Business and Executive Coaches Summit (WBECS).
Jonathan serves on the ICF's Artificial Intelligence Task Force, and has been a subject matter expert for the development of the Team Coaching Competencies. He's also the former President of the ICF's Cleveland Charter Chapter.

In today’s episode, I’m speaking with writing coach, Sandra Hill, who is the author of an article in our latest issue “Technology & AI ~ Will it support or replace human coaching?" Her article is entitled: S.T.E.M. vs. S.T.E.A.M. ~The advantages of being Simply Human.
Today, the rise of chatbots and electronic assistants like Siri, Alexa, Cortana and many others have paved the way for a wealth of meditation or health and wellness apps.
As a human species, it seems as though we initially dipped our toes in, and now, we have become fully immersed in the tech world. But not without some pain points that have the potential to wreak havoc to our lives, both personal and professional.
For coaches, regardless of their niche, there is a lot to take in. Like anything, too much of a good thing can cause problems. And, in the wrong hands or used in the wrong way, technology can be our downfall (hence the Pandora’s Box analogy).
In this podcast, we will discuss how safeguards could be applied when using AI and how AI-based virtual coaches will be able to automate mundane tasks for coaches.
Sandra Hill has a passion for coaching, helping those who seek to build their confidence while facilitating transitions in their personal or professional life. She uses a proven framework that enables her to help prepare tomorrow’s workforce combining her knowledge and change management expertise with that of coaching. As a career coach, Sandra has a 98% success rate when working with aspiring leaders and executives. During the pandemic, Sandra marketed herself as a writing coach.
A best-selling author herself, Sandra also hosts the podcast GROW YOUR VOICE/OVERCOME YOUR FEARS and writes career coaching articles for Forbes and life coaching articles for other industry magazines.

In today’s episode, I’m speaking with author Andrea Paviglianiti who is the author of an article in our latest issue “Technology & AI ~ Will it support or replace human coaching?" His article is entitled: The Role of AI in Coaching: A New Frontier
As AI adoption continues to grow, coaches and consultants may wonder if it will be their number one competitor or their ally, but it’s worth exploring the potential of advanced AI models, such as GPT, to enhance coaching through dialogue, domain-specific expertise, and continuous improvement. Specifically in the Americas, a mentor coach may focus primarily on upgrading the coach’s skills from a technical perspective. A coach supervisor, however, explores the various aspects of self-awareness, relational dynamics and systemic dimensions, to help uncover invisible influences that may hinder the quality of their coaching and expressions of those skills.
As technology advances, AI is increasingly becoming a buzzword in the business world, and its role in coaching is growing in importance. AI is being utilized in a wide range of industries. Now, this new technology is also being incorporated into coaching, allowing coaches to improve their performance and enhance their human connection with clients.
In this podcast, we will discuss how AI could be used in coaching to improve the coaching process and the impact AI will have on the future of coaching.
Andrea Paviglianiti works at IBM as a Data Scientist, co-creating Data & AI solutions with clients across Europe using cutting-edge technologies.
He is especially interested in Trusted AI and AI Ethics.
Privately, he focuses on learning and its challenges, looking for innovative and more efficient ways to master knowledge, skills, and critical thinking.
He regularly posts on his website "The Key To Think" about long-term learning strategies like situational awareness, mindfulness, observation, memory training, and introspection.
Andrea's mission is to help people have clarity in what they think and purpose in what they do, using learning as a means to grow and achieve their goals; possibly, merging his two professions.
He is the author of "New Maieutic: An Introductory Guide on the Philosophy of Dialogue for the Personal Development Through Coaching" and is out to write more.

In today’s episode, I’m speaking with Master Certified Coach PoYee Dorrian who is the author of an article in our latest issue “Journey to Excellence: Activating Mentor Coaching and Supervision." Her article is entitled: Co-Presencing ~ Demystifying coaching supervision.
While there are many definitions of coaching supervision – including those provided by coaching organizations such as the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) – they all encompass the elements of reflective practice. Supervision is a safe space that expands the capacity, development and resourcefulness of coaches and practitioners in their coaching practice for the benefit of their clients and stakeholders.
If the purpose of coaching is to support clients in making improvements and achieving goals, then the purpose of supervision is to widen coaches’ aperture to examine their paradigm and perceive the multi-faceted relationships – the connections and the space within, without, and with the interweaving systems in which they operate.
In this podcast, we will discuss what the difference is between coaching and supervision and how to define supervision.
PoYee is a Master Certified Coach with ICF, an accredited coaching supervisor, and a faculty member with the Coaching Supervision Academy (CSA) and the International Coach Academy (ICA). She brings a holistic and integral approach that has been profoundly shaped by her varying and diverse cultural, educational, and professional experiences.
In her private practice as the Principal Coach in “Journey By PoYee”, she works globally with corporate leaders, top teams, internal and external executive coaches, and team coaches.
PoYee believes in the profundity of reflective conversations that are sacred, meaningful, and heartfelt. It is the foundation for co-visioning a ‘fertile void’ where all parts of us are welcomed and honored - our minds, bodies, and most importantly, hearts – a deep resonance to connect to each other’s humanity.
She believes in the magic behind the mystery of co-creating anew in the unknown with lightness, whole-heartedness, and love.

In this interview, we talk with Executive Coaches, Jeff Nally and Kimcee McAnally who are the authors of an article in our March issue “Journey to Excellence” entitled: Coaching Supervision in Organizations ~ A game-changer to improve the impact of coaching.
The thought of working with an experienced coach to support leaders is a well-accepted practice across corporations and industries around the world. Leaders readily engage with coaches during leadership transitions, challenging situations, and to enhance their own skills as leaders in their organizations.
But who takes care of and develops the coach? Often times, coaches are independent and run their own business, fending for themselves when it comes to their own self-care and personal development. Coaching supervision is a well-established practice in many parts of the world to support the coaches themselves as they coach organizational leaders.
The purpose of coaching supervision is to enable coaches to introspectively look at themselves, how they coach, and about their professional health as a coach. As a result, coaches are better able to develop and enhance their own skills so they can better support the leaders and organizations. According to a 2021 publication, “The role of the supervisor is that of a supporter… in the professional development journey and not that of an assessor” (Hemmer et al.)
In this podcast, we will discuss supervision – how it works, the benefits, and how to incorporate coaching supervision for yourself as a coach, or in an organization.
Dr. Kimcee McAnally is an accredited Coach Supervisor and Partner at CoachSource. Her background includes extensive executive level business experience; academic qualifications (Ph.D. & M.S. in Organizational Psychology, B.S. in Psychology); coaching certification (EMCC European Individual Accreditation/EIA Senior Practitioner), and accredited Coach Supervisor (EMCC ESIA European Supervision Individual Accreditation). Kimcee is passionate about coaching and supervision and contributes to the industry through research, publications, and conference presentations. Kimcee co-authored the book, "Executive Coaching for Results: the Definitive Guide for Developing Organizational Leaders," published by Berrett-Koehler and recent chapters in “Innovations in Leadership Coaching” and “Coaching Supervision: Voices from the Americas.
Jeff Nally is an executive coach, coaching supervisor, and professional speaker inspiring leaders and coaches through the neuroscience of human interaction. He is the Chief HR Officer and Chief Coaching Officer at CoachSource, the world’s leaders in experienced executive coaches. Jeff led the executive coaching practice at Humana and co-authored Rethinking Human Resources, Humans@Work, and Coaching Wisdom with coach colleagues. He is a Professional Certified Coach through the International Coach Federation and is a Senior Certified Professional through the Society for Human Resource Management. He earned an MBA from Georgia State University.

In this interview, we talk with Master Mentor Coach, Clare Norman, about her article " Un-learning - The key to mentor coaching."
Before we became coaches, we each developed ways of seeing the world that kept us safe or gave us a sense of belonging to the "tribe," whether that tribe was a family system, a peer group, or our coach training cohort.
The best coaching works on the “who” of the thinker, so that the “what” falls into place with ease (per Marcia Reynolds in Coach the Person, Not the Problem). The same holds true for learning to coach.
The best training and the best mentor coaching work on the “who” of the coach, their beliefs, mindsets and paradigms, so that the “what” of the coaching competencies falls into place with ease.
In this podcast, we will discuss what mentor coaching is, why we need to change our our mindsets and how we can apply them to our coaching practices.
With over 20 years of coaching experience, Clare Norman MCC is highly sought after by other expert coaches, as well as successful coach training companies as a Master Mentor Coach.
Clare looks to continually sharpen individuals’ coaching edge and upskill mentor coaches so they can deliver high-quality feedback to their coaches-in-development.
Her laser focus on mindset shifts and her knack for spotting marginal gains has made her a go-to person for coaches looking for mentorship and practical, meaningful ways to improve their practice.
With an international following of both her coaching peers and senior leadership, Clare is making a difference to the world of work via the professional application of coaching.

In this interview, we talk with co-authors, co-creators, co-supervisors, co-coaches and co-friends Kerry Woodcock, Larissa Thurlow, and Sherry Matheson about their article " Reflecting on Reflection ~ The journey to coaching maturity."
We recognize and honor that as coaches, we are all at different levels of maturity. Reflecting in and on our practice, where do we consciously and unconsciously enable or inhibit our development and journey to coaching mastery?
The journey to maturity invites you to step into a review of your path so far, stand still long enough to notice where you are now, and look towards what lies ahead for you, both as a coach and as a human being.
In this podcast, we will discuss the three practices of reflection, Pre-flective, Reflexive and Reflective, the metaphors associated with those practices and how we can apply them to our coaching practices.
Kerry Woodcock, Larissa Thurlow and Sherry Matheson have had the privilege of working and playing together in a range of roles and combinations over many years, as co-coaches, colleagues, co-leads, co-supervisors, co-authors and friends.
In 2021, they leaned into their courage and commitment to form a powerful, pioneering, co-creative trio to develop and co-lead a Team Coaching Supervision Training Program delivered through Novalda.
Weaving together lightness and depth, championing and challenge, with a dash of irreverence, they often joke that they are two parts sparkle and one part grass stains – no parts assigned!
The trio are all certified Supervisors with Larissa holding an ESIA (EMCC Global Supervision Individual Award) with Sherry and Kerry to follow later this year.
