CHOKE ON IT

A discussion on Rape-Revenge as it pertains to 2017's M.F.A. and horror films in general. We also cover our favorites and not-so-favorites of the sub-genre as well as the various details which make up the topic of sexual assault. Lots covered, so get settled.

It's been nearly a month since our last episode, and we've been very very busy. This episode we take a break from the usual themed discussion and catch up on all the work that's been done since we last spoke. Horror films views, items picked up, site interviews, reviews, and future projects all discussed on this latest episode of Choke On It.

This week Jasmine and Jeremiah dig into a topic that's been known to cause divisions within the horror community, that is, the definition of a horror film. What components are crucial, can they be funny, or does horror have to play it mean and gory from start to finish? We choose a handful of films that have been known to force this conversation to surface, and decide whether or not they fall into the genre they often claim to be a part of.

This episode we discuss 'RAW' and, the other white meat. Are Zombies

considered cannibals? We close the episode with a game of, "Would you

cannibal?" (@ 30:30); needless to say, only strong stomachs need apply.

We keep it shorter than usual this go round focusing on the mostly mediocre

"Laid to Rest". Why? Because it's Jasmine's favorite movie ever. But really

because, the kills absolutely rock. Listen to us discuss our favorite ones

and be sure to share your own. We also get an apology from Jasmine about

her scathing commentary on last week's topic film, 'I Am a Ghost' - we

think she means it.

A deeper look and discussion into and on H.P. Mendoza's gem of a ghost

story, 'I AM A GHOST'. We also touch upon some of Troma's best films,

Jeremiah's first viewing of 'Street Trash', the Swedan release of 'Get

Out', and more

We discuss obscure films from popular horror directors, and popular films

from obscure ones.

We discuss 3 popular eras of the horror genre that by definition, share

very similar traits to eras found in entertainment wrestling of the same

time frame (Golden Age, Attitude Era, PG Era).
