CHP TALKS

For CHP Talks this week, I offer a short monologue on NDP MP Charlie Angus’s Private Member’s Bill C-372. The Bill is one more attempt by the Liberal / NDP coalition government to destroy Canada’s oil and gas sector. It is one more bill designed to intimidate and censor the voices of people with whom they disagree.

My guest this week is Chartered Financial Analyst, Lex Acker. Mr. Acker has uncovered a very interesting story about a loophole built into the BC NDP’s 2017 “electoral finance reform” legislation. The loophole allowed the NDP to receive significant contributions from supporters who have died, even after strict contribution limits were imposed on living residents, unions and corporations . . . as long as those testamentary intentions were signed before 2018. It appears to have been carefully planned to benefit the NDP over other parties and raises a number of ethical questions.

My guest this week is Dr. William Makis, a Canadian physician with expertise in Radiology, Oncology and Immunology. My guest this week is Linda Gibbons, a woman who has spent 11 years behind bars for offering her silent witness and prayers in front of abortion clinics. There are children in Canada—perhaps as many as 100—who are alive today because Linda was there on the sidewalk in front of the abortion clinic doors, reminding women about the sacred lives of the preborn babies they are carrying. Linda has also witnessed for Christ and prayed for women in the maximum-security prison where she has been repeatedly incarcerated.

My guest this week is Tom Harris, Executive Director of the International Climate Science Coalition-Canada (www.iscs-canada.com). We discuss the ISCS’s second report on Ottawa’s $60 billion “Climate Change Master Plan.” In the report, Tom points out the utter insanity of spending unaffordable amounts of taxpayers’ money on a problem that doesn’t exist.
We review some of the scientific data that indicates global warming is neither the crisis so many claim it is . . . nor the result of human activity and CO2.

My guest this week is Makayla Anderson, a young poet and musician in the Bulkley Valley in Northern BC. We discuss her writings about matters of faith and hope. She and her three sisters—Kalia, Mackenzie and Madison—perform her music and lead worship at various churches and local events. In August, 2023, they made a trip to share their music with Keith and Kristyn Getty and others at an event in Nashville. We talk about the challenges and disappointments that are part of the human condition and the importance of faith and we play a few short segments of her music (links to the lyrics can be found in the episode shownotes).

My guest this week is Dr. Charles Lugosi. Dr. Lugosi is a distinguished Constitutional lawyer and has worked in both the USA and Canada. He also is a professor at Liberty University in Virginia and practices law in Victoria, BC. In this episode, he explains the importance of holding clear convictions on matters of life and death. He ties respect for all innocent human life to issues of abortion, euthanasia and conflict in the Middle East. Dr. Lugosi has served as a CHP candidate in the past and does a great job of articulating the logical position of recognizing the sanctity of all human life and protecting it in legislation and the courts.

My guest this week is Mr. Ken Drysdale, Chairman of the team of Commissioners who conducted the National Citizens Inquiry across the country this past year. The NCI held hearings in 8 cities from Nova Scotia to British Columbia. They held 24 days of in-person hearings as well as 3 days of virtual testimony. They heard from over 300 witnesses, including expert witnesses, speaking primarily about the impacts of government actions, edicts and policies in regard to covid on the lives of Canadians—economic costs and health impacts on individuals and families. The NCI Commissioners have now produced their Final Report of 643 pages with analysis and 400 recommendations (see shownotes for url links to the Report). In addition to the report, there are over 4000 pages of transcribed witness testimonies. The actual video footage of the witness testimonies is also available on the NCI site. We owe a debt of gratitude to Mr. Drysdale and the other Commissioners for their important work.

My guest this week is Randy Murray, a good friend of mine who lives here in the beautiful Bulkley Valley (Northern BC).
