Chris' Blog Archives - Stunt Granny

With AEW Wrestle Dream as an after thought, Chris & Kevin jump into WWE Smackdown. Even though Sami Zayn started the show, your hosts talk more about Trick Williams. Since Chris & Kevin mention it frequently, why is Williams being put in a position to lose? Unfortunately for your hosts, they talk about the worst match of the week, Paige vs Nikki Bella. Because Damien Priest turned heel, Chris & Kevin discuss whether he can get back to a heavyweight championship. On WWE Raw, your hosts talk about the second worst segment of the week with Joe Hendry. With the pull of the show, Chris talk about Bayley vs Lyra Valkyria being the equivalent of the Red Rooster vs the Brooklyn Brawler. To close the show, Chris & Kevin talk about Roman Reigns saving The Bloodline from 946. Your hosts also discuss who could be the fifth for 946.

Since Kevin watched Smackdown later, him & Chris talk about LA Knight vs Roman Reigns kicking off Money In The Bank. Because Reigns won, your hosts talk about Knight bouncing back from another high profile loss. With the women’s MITB match first, Chris & Kevin discuss the number of bumps the ladies took. Since Tiffany Stratton was the winner, your hosts talk about how that impacted the Women’s World Championship match. Because Liv Morgan won, Chris unveils his WWE creative “Bucket Theory.” On Raw, it was more interesting for Oba Femi to talk to Paul Heyman than his match with Bronson Reed at Money In The Bank. Sticking to the “Bucket Theory”, Chris & Kevin talk about 946 vs The Bloodline consuming all of the creative juice. Another WWE staple is the great match and Chad Gable & Rey Fenix delivered it. To close the show, Chris & Kevin talk about Carmelo Hayes joining 946.

With Money In the Bank on Saturday, Chris & Kevin get right into wrestling talk. Since Tiffany Stratton took the last spot for the women, your hosts break down who will win. For their predictions, Chris & Kevin explain why Roxanne Perez, Sol Ruca and Lash Legend are the favorites. When your hosts get to the main event of Smackdown, they talk about Kevin Owens getting the last spot in the men’s MITB match. Next up is Raw, so your hosts immediately make fun of Roman Reigns. Because Reigns blew off the Usos and 946, Chris & Kevin have a good laugh. After LA Knight got a verbal beat down, your hosts talk about his slowed momentum heading into Money In the Bank. To close the show, Chris & Kevin talk about the long road to get to Becky Lynch vs Liv Morgan vs Stephanie Vaquer.

Unfortunately, Chris & Kevin kick off the show talking about the untimely passing of Benjamin “PAC” Satterley. From NXT to AEW, your hosts talk about his impact on pro wrestling. When Chris & Kevin get to wrestling, they talk about the results of AEW All Out. In Kevin’s estimation, the only real surprise was the Young Bucks capturing the AEW Tag Team championships. Much to their surprise, Chris & Kevin talk about the turn in character for Chelsea Green. Sticking with the women, your hosts talk about Lola Vice not getting enough vignettes to get her character over. Though Chris & Kevin are enjoying the over the top Bloodline vs 946 feud, they also talk how it hurts other parts of the show. One of those examples is Oba Femi offering a contract to Bronson Reed to wrestle. To close the show, they talk about Jaida Parker hitting Jacob Fatu with a car.

With Chris & Kevin behind the mics, they started on how AEW anti-hyped All Out. By having a good trios match, Chris & Kevin talk about the burn out from quality matches. Not to be out done, your hosts talk about the promos that did highlight their match were not good. To cite a specific example, they talk about the Young Bucks, FTR and Adam Copeland & Christian Cage. Because the Young Bucks teased leaving AEW, Chris & Kevin talk about how AEW’s tag team division has never been pushed. Another problem that your hosts talked about, was the lack of interaction of Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay when they are the main event of All Out. When Chris & Kevin get to NXT, they talk about the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic giving the show structure. To close the show, Chris & Kevin talk about Mason Rook‘s promo on Grayson Waller.

Because of the crowd response in Norfolk VA, Chris & Kevin joke that all wrestling events should take place outside of the US. After that commentary, your hosts talk about the good work AEW has done to hype All Out. Even though two matches for the PPV are gimmick matches, Chris & Kevin discuss the brand cutting back on hardcore matches. Because Jon Moxley got promo time, your hosts talk about how good his time has been as Continental Champion. Though there are a lot of tag teams involved with Adam Copeland & Christian Cage, Chris & Kevin talk about the clear path they have to the not TLC match. With Tomasso Ciampa attacking Kazuchika Okada backstage, your hosts talk about minor feuds receiving proper build up for All Out. To close the show, Chris & Kevin talk about the goofiness returning to NXT which is a good thing.

With plenty of wrestling to cover, Chris & Kevin started at WWE Smackdown and worked their way forward. A theme for the podcast was the lack of crowd enthusiasm. Since this episode was pre-taped in Cleveland, the crowd was definitely a factor. Because the main event scene has a lot of names, Chris & Kevin talked about when the inevitable five man match will happen. In what was a rare crowd pop, Johnny Gargano got a good response against CM Punk in the main event. Moving on to Sunday Night’s Main Event, Chris & Kevin discussed Trick Williams recapturing the US Championship. During the Oba Femi vs Bron Breakker match, we got the return of Bronson Reed. Last but not least, your hosts dive into a live WWE Raw. With the Bloodline and Royce Keys dominating the show, Chris & Kevin talk about the story not having a pay off.

Since Chris & Kevin paid human monies to watch AEW All In, they started their review with it. With the return of Britt Baker, they did need to talk about the Pre-Show. Even though the Trios Roulette Royale started on the pre-show, AEW saved the debut of The New Level for PPV. As predicted, the Brawling Birds kicked off a mostly positive night for the English. When the English were disappointed, great matches like Jon Moxley vs Nigel McGuinness happened. Since AEW restrained themselves, the Falls Count Anywhere match between Darby Allin & Kevin Knight stood out. After a wrong prediction, Chris & Kevin talk about Mercedes Mone finally capturing the AEW Women’s Championship. Wrapping up AEW All In, your hosts talked about Will Ospreay capturing the AEW Men’s Championship from Kenny Omega. To close out the show, Chris & Kevin do a speed run through WWE Smackdown and Raw.

With Chris & Kevin behind the microphones, they get right into previewing AEW All In. Even though Will Ospreay kicked off this week’s Dynamite, your hosts talk about the choice not to have Kenny Omega on. Since the Young Bucks are taking on Christian & Cope, your hosts explain way C&C aren’t a nostalgia act. If Austin Creed & Kofi Kingston debut with Swerve Strickland, Chris & Kevin talk about them being a lock to win the Trios Titles. With a lot of AEW’s championships on the line, your hosts make predictions for who will retain and who will be crowned new champions. Because Willow Nightingale was attacked by Mercedes Mone this week, Chris & Kevin both think Willow will retain. To wrap up their AEW All In preview, they make the obvious prediction for Ospreay vs Omega. Since NXT Heatwave is this Sunday too, Chris & Kevin speed run through those predictions.

With Chris & Kevin back behind the microphones, they talk about not being excited about either NXT Heatwave or AEW All In. Since Grayson Waller continues to point out the problems, your hosts talk about it being counterproductive for the brand. While Tony D’Angelo faces all of the newcomers, Chris & Kevin talk about his character being stuck in neutral. Because EK Prosper & Keanu Carver are on TV now, Chris & Kevin talk about them being repeats of Je’Von Evans and Oba Femi. With AEW insisting on longer Dynamites, your hosts talk about how unnecessary they are. After the recorded interview and close to the show, Chris & Kevin talk about Kenny Omega being a heel. Because Willow Nightingale and Mercedes Mone had a pull apart brawl, your hosts talk about it being a draw for AEW All In. To close the show, Chris & Kevin talk about New Day challenging for the Trios Championship.
