The Bible tells us not to conform to the patterns of this world. That means, don't be the same as the world. To be different. Noticeably different.

"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."

Today I'm going to tell you a personal story of God's goodness in my life!

Psalm 117 is the shortest Psalm out of all of them! Let's memorize it together!

Psalm 117

"Praise the Lord, all nations. Extol Him all people.

For great is his steadfast love toward us,

and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever.

Praise the LORD!"

Being persecuted means being bullied or harassed for loving Jesus. He told us this would happen!

Today's memory verse:

Matthew 5:10

"Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven."

The Lord looks at the heart. He is always working on us through His Holy Spirit to refine us and mold us and shape us. He does all the work. All we have to do is accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. He purifies our hearts. The reward is great when our heart is purified by Jesus! We will see God!

Matthew 5:9

"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God."

All throughout the Bible we hear of God's peace! It a fruit of the spirit, it is part of the full armor of God, Jesus talks about leaving His peace with us, and God says when we cast our cares on Him, He send us a peace that passes understanding. We can have peace regardless of the situation, because of who He is! We can be peacemakers in non peaceful situations!

Matthew 5:8

"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God."

Mercy by definition is, showing compassion or forgiveness towards someone when you have the power to punish or harm them. That's exactly what God has done to us! He had the power to punish us but He didn't! He sent Jesus instead! That is what we should do to others! Show them that same mercy!

Matthew 5:7

"Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy."

We hunger and thirst for what's right, and we need it, just like we do food and water! Our righteousness can only come from Jesus! We will never be right before God without Him.

"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled."

To be meek means to be quiet, gentle, and easily imposed upon, not argumentative or forceful. Jesus was a perfect example of meekness!

"Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth."

We grieve and mourn many losses in this life. But we ARE comforted! We are comforted through the Bible, through prayer, and through each other!
