There was a time in our nation when the word “Evangelist” or “Evangelism” was synonymous with Billy Graham. He held 417 Crusades in 185 countries and introduced millions and millions of people to Jesus Christ through his preaching, teaching, and writing. It could be easy for us to say, well I am not Billy Graham, or, evangelism is not my gift, or that is just not my personality. And yet, God’s expectations for us to evangelize remain the same. In fact, it is great that He has given us so many ways to accomplish the task of evangelism! The first way that we can evangelize is through proclamation.
In the 1st letter to the church at Corinth, the apostle Paul begins by greeting this spiritually immature body, addressing their issue with personality cliques, and then calling them to realize that real spiritual power is found in the cross, not personality.
Big Idea: 2 C’s we must consider when we practice proclamation-evangelism (1 Corinthians 1:18-31)
