Regarding the focus on the Sabbath, note the following reasons why the Sabbath was considered a command, sacred, and essential:

1. It is a command.

2. It is a time for focused meditation and prayer.

3. It is a time to worship Abba Father (cf., thinking of the Sabbath as a weekly "father's day").

4. Gives us physical and mental rest and recovery.

5. A guard against and repudiation of greed and materialism.

6. One of the ways we follow the example of Abba Father Himself (He rested on the 7th day).

7. Entering into and resting in the finished of God that He accomplished through His Son Jesus the Christ. See Hebrews 4:1-3.
