What do you treasure? Whatever you treasure will determine what you spend your time and resources pursuing. Jesus had some thoughts for his disciples about the dangers of chasing things that don’t last. Come, let’s learn from Jesus’ teachings what we should spend our lives chasing and not chasing!

Purity- if you hear anyone say they’ve 100% attained it, you should run the other way! Yet, God purifies us from our sins, and Jesus calls us to a life that pursues purity. With all the confusion that comes with this term- how should we understand it, pursue it, and long for the promised day when we are made 100% pure?

Mercy is often defined as “not getting what you deserve.” Have you ever been in that place where you received someone’s kind mercy rather than justice or consequence for what you deserved? Mercy is a sweet gift to give and receive. Come, let’s learn & grow in our understanding and application of God’s mercy in our lives from the words of Jesus!

Have you ever been so hungry or thirsty that it hurt? How did it feel when you ate that first bite or drank that first drink after being famished? Today, Jesus will use this word picture to make a rich spiritual point to His disciples. What should we spiritually hunger and thirst for? Let’s open God’s word and see!
