Christ Community Sermons

In October 2026, Christ Community welcomed Cubs great Kerry Wood to Inspiring Stories weekend services. The 1998 National League Rookie of the Year and 2-time All-Star shared about his dominant 14-year MLB career--and what happened after it was over.

The "Why I Follow Jesus" series ends with the story of someone who met Jesus--but chose NOT to follow him. He couldn't give up what he was really depending on.

Pastor Clayton studies the story of a woman who poured out her most valuable possession to honor Jesus--because she knew Jesus was about to pour out everything he had for her.

Why do I follow Jesus? For a scared father, a suffering woman, and a young girl in the New Testament, it's because he took time to see them.

The New Testament teaching series continues by considering, "What would Paul say if we asked him why he follows Jesus?"

Each week of this teaching series, we look at personal encounters with Jesus in the Gospels and wonder: If you asked this person why they follow Jesus, what would they say?

Pastor Jim teaches on the church as God's people called to declare God's praises and to live visibly among the world.

Christ gives different gifts to the church and the leadership gifts Paul highlights exist specifically to equip the rest of the body for works of service. Nobody is off the hook. Everyone is called to serve.

Becoming like Jesus in every way happens not through solo spiritual effort but through a body where every part works together, anchored in truth, speaking that truth in love to one another. We grow in community.

Unity in the body is grounded in something bigger than any of us. That unity is practiced through humility, gentleness, patience, and bearing with one another. Belonging is worth what it demands.
