God made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. — 2 Corinthians 5:21
In the great exchange, Christ took the full weight of our sin and gave us His perfect righteousness, so that the Father now sees us as holy and beloved. This means our acceptance before God rests entirely on what Christ has done, not on anything we contribute. Because His sacrifice fully satisfied divine justice, no charge can ever stand against those who belong to Him, and we are free to live as heirs of eternal life.
