Many Christian traditions offer different interpretations of God’s justice and mercy, but the Restoration perspective places a particularly strong emphasis on scripture and the boundless nature of God’s redeeming power. Rather than focusing solely on judgment, it highlights the hope that no soul is beyond reach and that divine grace is extended to all who are willing to receive it. #Universalsalvation

This theme is beautifully illustrated through several of Jesus Christ’s parables. In the parable of the Prodigal Son, we see a loving father who welcomes back his lost child with open arms, symbolizing God’s readiness to forgive and restore. The parable of the Laborers in the Vineyard challenges our sense of fairness, showing that God’s generosity is not limited by human expectations and that His blessings are offered abundantly to all. And in the parable of the Lost Sheep, the shepherd’s willingness to leave the ninety-nine to find the one reminds us of the deep individual worth of every soul and God’s relentless pursuit of each person.

Together, these parables paint a powerful picture of redemption, mercy, and hope—core principles that the Restoration uplifts and celebrates.

Deconstructing your faith can feel unsettling—like the ground beneath you is shifting. Questions arise, assumptions are challenged, and beliefs you once held with certainty may no longer feel as solid. But this process is not the end of faith. In many ways, it can be the beginning of a deeper, more authentic one.

Deconstruction is not about abandoning God—it’s about stripping away what may have been built around Him. Fear-based ideas, misunderstandings, or inherited beliefs can sometimes cloud the true nature of who God is. When those layers are peeled back, what remains is not emptiness, but an opportunity to rediscover Him more clearly.

God is not distant during this process. He is with you in every question, every doubt, and every moment of uncertainty. He is not threatened by your searching—He welcomes it. The same God who formed you knows your thoughts before you speak them. He understands your fears, your confusion, and even the questions you’re afraid to ask out loud.

Let Him be your guide.

You don’t have to force answers or rush the journey. Faith that has been examined, wrestled with, and refined often becomes stronger than faith that has never been questioned. What emerges is not blind belief, but trust—trust rooted in experience, honesty, and relationship.

Scripture reminds us that God is near to the brokenhearted and attentive to those who seek Him. Even in the wilderness seasons, He leads. Even in silence, He is present. And even when everything feels uncertain, His character remains steady—unchanging love, patience, and truth.

So if you find yourself deconstructing, don’t be afraid.

This may not be the loss of your faith—but the rebuilding of it.

A faith that is no longer rooted in fear, but in love.
A faith that is no longer fragile, but resilient.
A faith that knows God—not just through what you were told, but through what you have encountered.

And through it all, remember:
You are not alone in the process.

He is with you. Always.

Universalism proclaims salvation as a true victory, not something unfinished. Christ does not merely make salvation possible—He completes it. As Scripture says, “For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive” (1 Corinthians 15:22), and again, “through one man’s act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all” (Romans 5:18). Sin, death, and the devil do not share in eternal victory; God alone does.

Judgment, then, is understood as restorative, not retributive. God corrects to heal, not to endlessly punish. His justice flows from His love, bringing transformation rather than destruction, until “God may be all in all” (1 Corinthians 15:28).

This preserves the character of God revealed in Christ. A God who is perfectly good and all-powerful neither fails nor refuses to save His creation. As it is said: If God is unable to save all, He is not all-powerful; if unwilling, He is not perfectly good.

The early Church affirmed this hope. Gregory of Nyssa wrote: “For it is evident that God will in truth be ‘all in all’ when there shall be no evil seen in existence,” showing that God’s purpose is to fully heal and restore creation.

To claim that Adam’s condemnation has greater or lasting power than Christ—the new Adam who brings life and justification—is to undermine the gospel itself. The only consistent conclusion is that God’s victory results in the restoration of all things.

The idea of hell as eternal conscious torment didn’t dominate Christianity from the beginning—it developed over time.

In the earliest centuries, many influential Christian thinkers—like Origen and Gregory of Nyssa—taught forms of restoration or purification, where God’s judgment was ultimately healing, not endlessly punitive.

The shift began in the late 4th and early 5th centuries, especially through the influence of Augustine of Hippo. Writing in Latin (rather than Greek), Augustine strongly argued that hell was eternal and unending for the wicked. Because of his immense influence in the Western Church, this view gradually became the dominant teaching.

By the Middle Ages, eternal hell was firmly established in Western Christianity, reinforced by church tradition, art, and preaching. Meanwhile, the Eastern Church retained more emphasis on mystery, purification, and God’s restorative justice.

In short: Hell became a dominant doctrine between the 4th–6th centuries, largely due to Augustine’s influence in the Western Church.

Throughout church history, Christians have held three primary views of hell: eternal punishment, annihilation, and ultimate restoration. Each finds support in Scripture and has been defended by sincere believers across the centuries.

But which view fully proclaims the victory of Christ over death, sin, and the devil? Which one truly reflects the grace and love revealed in Jesus?

In this episode, we explore these three perspectives and ask a deeper question—not just what is possible, but what is most consistent with the character of God as revealed in Christ.

You may have heard claims that ancient religions had “dying and rising gods,” or that stories of miraculous births existed long before Jesus. The argument usually goes something like this: since similar stories existed earlier, the story of Jesus Christ must have been copied from them.

But when we look closely at the historical evidence, the claim does not hold up.

First, it’s important to understand that Christianity did not arise in a mythological culture detached from history. It emerged within Second Temple Judaism, a tradition deeply rooted in history, Scripture, and strict monotheism.

The earliest followers of Jesus were Jews who believed strongly in the God of Israel and rejected pagan mythology. These were the same people who preserved the Hebrew Scriptures and fiercely resisted adopting pagan religious ideas.

The idea that they would suddenly invent a pagan-style myth about their Messiah runs directly against the worldview they held.

Let’s also look at the historical context. The life and execution of Jesus are not only recorded in the New Testament. They are also acknowledged by non-Christian historians.

My story.... For over 30 years, I held to the view of eternal conscience hell. I wasn’t passive in that belief. I was all in. I provided Pastoral care at a Church of five thousand members and worked with many Evangelism Ministries worldwide. I wrote "Hell" sermons for pastors. I poured my heart into evangelism. I believed, like Jonathan Edwards, that eternity hung in the balance and that fear saved souls. I wasn’t intimidated by the weight of that message, I carried it boldly, convinced I was defending truth.

But then something unexpected happened. God began to transform me. This journey led me to what is often called Patristic Universalism (a term that was not used until after the publication of the book Patristic Universalism). In this episode I share how a committed evangelist, shaped by decades of eternal conscious torment theology, was transformed into someone who now sees the heart of God through a different lens.
