In this sermon we continue to look at what it means to be the Church (God’s called out people), we seek to ask and answer the question "What is biblical membership?" This is a really important question since that’s exactly what we, the body of Christ, are called to according to God’s word.

Today we continue our series titled, "Beautiful Church". In this episode, we ask the question, "What is a covenant?" With His perfect life Jesus Christ completely fulfilled the terms of the covenant and He earned the blessing. But with His sacrificial death He completely fulfilled the curse of the covenant and that leaves the blessing for you; and me; and anyone who trusts Christ by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. Jesus Christ fulfilled the conditions of the covenant so that we could be received unconditionally. Let's talk more about it.

Today we launch a 6 week sermon series called "Beautiful Church" where we will be exploring what God has said in His word regarding six crucial questions. What is the Church? What is a Covenant? What is a member? What are elders? What is our mission? How do we accomplish this? Pastor Eddie begins our series by helping better answer the question, "What Is The Church?"

Today we wrap up our mini-series, “The Sovereignty of God” by looking at Romans 9:30-33. Since life is short and eternity is forever, nothing is more important than understanding the right way to be right with God. And since both fallen human nature and every religion in the world teach the wrong way to come to God, we especially need to understand God’s way of righteousness. Paul addresses this crucial issue in our text. Let’s talk more about it.

Today we continue our mini-series titled, “The Sovereignty of God”. Pastor Ed will be teaching from Romans chapter 9:24-29. Paul used these verses to indicate that God was fashioning for Himself a single people, consisting of both Jews and Gentiles, reconciled to Him by the work of Christ. Believers today are, by God’s grace, “vessels of mercy” that He is preparing for glory, a truth that reminds us of Romans 8:29–30. Let’s talk more about it.

Today we continue our mini-series titled, “The Sovereignty of God”. Pastor Eddie will be teaching from Romans chapter 9:22-23. Ultimately the demonstration of God’s wrath and power upon vessels prepared for destruction is for the purpose of showing His profound grace toward those He prepared beforehand for glory. It is impossible to appreciate God’s saving grace unless it is seen against the sobering backdrop of His judgment. Let’s talk more about it.

Who are we to argue with God? This is a logical argument. God is the Potter and we are the clay. God is wiser than we are, and we are foolish to question His will or to resist it. (The reference here is to Isa. 45:9.) To be sure, the clay has no life and is passive in the potter’s hand. We have feelings, intellect, and willpower, and we can resist Him if we choose. (See Jer. 18, where this thought is developed.) But it is God who determines whether a man will be a Moses or a Pharaoh. Neither Moses, nor Pharaoh, nor anyone else, could choose his parents, his genetic structure, or his time and place of birth. We have to believe that these matters are in the hands of God. Today we begin a mini-series titled, “The Sovereignty of God”. Pastor Eddie will lead off by taking us through the first part of Romans chapter 9. In Romans 9, Paul defended the character of God by showing that Israel’s past history actually magnified the attributes of God. He specifically named four attributes of God: His faithfulness (Rom. 9:1–13), righteousness (Rom. 9:14–18), justice (Rom. 9:19– 29), and grace (Rom. 9:30–33). You will note that these divisions correspond with Paul’s three questions: “Is there unrighteousness with God?” (Rom. 9:14), “Why does he find fault?” (Rom. 9:19), and “What shall we say then?” (Rom. 9:30). Today is a first for us. Pastor Eddie and I will be teaching/preaching together recapping the first 8 chapters of the book of Romans. Paul’s epistle to the Romans is still transforming people’s lives, just the way it transformed St. Augustine, Martin Luther, John Wesley and many more. The one Scripture above all others that brought Luther out of mere religion into the joy of salvation by grace, through faith, was Romans 1:17: “The just shall live by faith.” The Protestant Reformation and the Wesleyan Revival were both the fruit of this wonderful letter written by Paul from Corinth about the year AD 56. The letter was carried to the Christians at Rome by one of the deaconesses of the church at Cenchrea, Sister Phebe (Rom. 16:1). Imagine! You and I can read and study the same inspired letter that brought life and power to many believers throughout history. And the same Holy Spirit who taught them can teach us! Today we finish up in Romans 8:35-39. Jesus Christ loves us and gives us the victory. This is not a promise with conditions attached: “If you do this, God will do that.” This security in Christ is an established fact, and we claim it for ourselves because we are in Christ.
