How is Christian parenting unique and distinctive under the gospel- Christian parenting is modeled after the fatherhood of God, it focuses on us as much as it does on our children, it aims to make disciples of Jesus Christ, and it balances law and gospel.

How does the gospel change relationship in the home- Why does Paul address children and what does this mean about their spiritual status- And how does the gospel, 'in the Lord' provide the only proper context for the application of this command- Here then is a further manifestation of how in Christ, God is reconciling all things to Himself.

The Apostle concludes his teaching on Marriage in Ephesians by pointing to the New Creation and union with Christ as the ultimate lens through which the marriage relationship is to be worked out and lived out in the home.

How many of us tend to think of marriage always in terms of the atonement- We typically get caught up in gender roles and daily specifics, but here the Apostle calls us to fix our gaze upon Christ crucified as the model and motivation for a Christian marriage --especially so for the husband as He's called to love his wife as Christ loves the church.

The temptation of Christ and the unique focus of Mark's gospel, which emphasizes the wilderness, Satan, and the wild animals, up against Jesus and the ministering angels. Why doesn't Mark give us many details on the temptation of Christ- Why does he emphasize the wilderness, wild animals, and angels- He does so to show us how Jesus is walking in the steps of Adam, and Israel, and Job - as he is our faithful High Priest, and the one through Whom God's dominion over the world and the spiritual powers will finally be realized.

What does it mean for wives to -submit to their own husbands as unto the Lord-- How is this applicable today- How can we assert this and yet avoid paving the way for abuse- Here we see the apostle Paul turn our attention to Jesus Christ and the gospel. For when our eyes are set on Christ as the ultimate example of what it means to be a faithful spouse, we are led to beautify the gospel with how we treat one-another in the marriage relationship.

What does it mean to be 'filled with the Spirit'- We hear a lot about 'Spirit-filled living' in Christian circles, but how do the scriptures define that- Here we see that Spirit-filled living isn't necessarily an experience, or something we 'feel', or inspiration for living, but is something practical, centered on corporate worship, and loving our brothers and sisters in Christ in view of the gospel.

What does it mean to walk as children of light- Paul exhorts the church to walk in wisdom, redeem the time, and discern the will of the Lord in all things.

As the apostle Paul seeks to lead the church to greater Christian maturity, he gives here what we might call the gospel--motivations to lead the church to where they must go. This is a call to a God-centered way of Christian obedience, as it's the ultimate motivation behind every 'why we do what we do' in the Christian life.
