A priest of the Archdiocese of New Orleans, Fr. Andrew Gutierrez was born and raised in Metairie. After studying psychology at LSU and completing seminary formation at St. Joseph Seminary College and Notre Dame Seminary, he was ordained to the priesthood in 2019.
His four years of parish ministry revealed the joy of walking with people in their moments of grace, struggle, and conversion. Now serving on the formation faculty at Notre Dame Seminary and continuing as chaplain of Archbishop Rummel High School, he seeks to form seminarians and young men who become authentic disciples of Jesus Christ.
He holds a licentiate in sacred theology and serves as coordinator of pastoral formation, professor of sacramental and pastoral theology, and an external formator.
Above all, he desires to help others encounter the transforming love of the Lord so that every soul might know the joy of conversion and intimacy with Christ.
