Christian Geeks Rockcast

In this episode, we catch up with Les and Joyce Carlsen. We discuss the new album, "Free Will," his beginnings in rock and in the traveling cast of the musical "Hair," where he met Joyce, and of course his time in Bloodgood. It's a great conversation with two legends and pioneers of Christian metal.

On this episode, we discuss the sophomore album by one of the most controversial albums in Christian music history, 1990s Once Dead by Vengeance Rising. The last album by the classic Vengeance lineup, this one was musically and sonically more mature than their groundbreaking debut.

On this album, we discuss one of the greatest one hit wonders of Christian rock history, Rage of Angels. This Conneticut-based band sounded like they were straight off the Sunset Strip, but it quickly fell apart when mainstream band Steelheart poached a couple members.

With episode 77, we had to revisit the 77s, and what better album to review than the self-titled 1987 Seventy Sevens. So many 7s! This album, also known as the Island record, was supposed to catapult the band to stardom, but a little band called U2 had other plans.

With the Newsboys in the news lately (no pun intented), we thought we would go back and cover their 1988 debut album with Refuge Records, Read All About It. For this release, they were a young Australian band with completely different members and sound than the one today.

On our final episode of a great 2024, Steve and Britt discuss the third album from the lengendary band Adam Again, Homeboys. Often overshadowed by their genius next album, Dig, 1990's Homeboys proves to still be an incredible listen even after almost 35 years.
