Americans are very protective of their rights. I doubt that a week goes by that we don’t hear something on the TV or read something in the newspaper about somebody claiming their rights have been violated. As we examine 1 Corinthians 9:15-18, I want you to consider, maybe for the very first, time, the joy that can be found in not exercising your rights.

When the Bible doesn’t say something is right or wrong, how do you determine if it’s something we are to accept or reject? In 1 Corinthians 8, Paul deals with this issue. He helps us to see that when it comes to serving Christ, it’s not how much you know, of the Bible, but it’s how much you love God and love the people around you.

When it comes to some topics, the Bible is very clear about what is right and what is wrong. But what about the grey area, those activities and things we do that aren't clearly spelled out? Has God left us clueless on how to address those issues? In 1 Corinthians 8, we'll discover how to make distinction about what things are appropriate for a Christian to do.

We are living in a world that is becoming more and more decadent. The danger is that when you have that happening in culture, it cannot help but influence the church. If we are not careful, we can become comfortable with sin, desensitized to it, then tolerate it in our life. What’s the answer? 1 Corinthians 5, reveals how an authentic Christian should respond.

In 1 Corinthians 7, the Apostle Paul deals with some very practical issues concerning singleness and marriage. We live in a society where more and more people are choosing to remain single. Perhpas that is due to some of the negative feelings people have toward marriage. What does the Bible say about all of this?

With 2017 comes a fresh restart from God. With that in mind, may we embrace His purposes in such a way demonstrating we are dependent upon His Holy Spirit!

How could Jesus be a baby in a manger and be the creator of the world? It’s a mystery that we won’t fully understand until we get to heaven, but the fact of the matter is that when he came to earth he set aside his glory, yet he did not set aside his deity. That baby born in a manger was God and that’s what makes the Christmas story so wonderful and amazing!
