  • What is Trending for 2023?

    Hey Friends -

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas full of happiness, joy, and peace! (and some fantastic memories too!) This year was full of many transitions - a new business model + a completely new rebrand. We added several new teams and clients this year. I experienced some setbacks thanks to the economy. The other thing that this year brought was podcasting to the forefront - movies and tv shows being made about podcasts, and podcasts being made about TV shows! So much good stuff.

The golden era of podcasting is coming. Get ready, ladies!

Listen to what to expect in podcasting for 2023:

    • Find your niche - Being relevant and unique in a community of a thousand is worth more than having millions of views that don't convert.
    • Podcast Ad Spending is growing - Podcasting ad revenue is growing faster (72%) than the total internet ad revenue (35%).
    • Use data-driven content to create a better listening experience.
    • New markets being driven by the popularity of podcasting pulse MUCH MORE!

  • Why Do We Put So Much Pressure on Ourselves at Christmas?

    Hey Friends -

Since it is Christmas week - Today will be a mini-episode; However, I wanted to talk about Christmas and what drives our pressure-filled expectations. We all have those fantasy-fueled expectations about Christmas that come straight out of a Hallmark movie with the perfect Christmas celebrations, the well-behaved children, and there is no drama of any kind. Listen in to learn how you can take some of the pressure off of yourself:

    • Avoid viewing overly romantic, extra sweet Christmas movies and over-the-top social media postings
    • Reduce visits to the malls
    • Limit gift-giving wrapping and buy more experience type gifts
    • Go to a select few church and social functions
    • Limit the amount of travel

  • It's Time to Stir Up the Water : Re-air

    Hey Friends -

This episode finds me still recovering from my hip surgery this past Wednesday. Everything went well… I am just taking a bit more time to rest. With that in mind, today's episode is a re-air of one of my favorite episodes from this past year: It's Time to Stir Up the Water. Before we dive in, can I remind us all that when God puts something on our hearts, as He did with this one for me, you have to share it… sometimes more than once, am I right?!

So as you've heard me mention before, I'm a BIG fan of The Chosen. I recently watched episode 4 of Season 2, and something stirred inside me. In this episode - One of the things that Jesus tells Matthew - is sometimes, "You Got to Stir Up the Water" and walk off like A BOSS. I loved it. I've been thinking about this ever since, especially how it relates to Podcasting.

One thing I've noticed recently… is that so many podcasts are formula-driven. You know what I'm talking about – Music-intro-main content-music =outro with CTA + music. Even the show notes are formula driven. The thing is, you don't have to have YOUR show sound like everyone else. You want it to be unique. With over 2 million podcasts worldwide, you must set yourself apart to be seen.

    Listen in to learn more:

    • With 2.4 million podcasts worldwide - you need to stir up the water!
    • The importance of storytelling in your podcast
    • Practical tips for incorporating your uniqueness into your podcast!

  • What Veterans Day Means to Me

    Hey Friends -

So why the bonus episode today and no episode this past Monday? I'll be honest last week was a hard week for managing my chronic illnesses, running a business, and my husband heading out of town. Sometimes life gets in the way of our best intentions. I had another episode planned with my friend and Veteran, Brittany Simmons, US Army LTC, Retired, but tech issues and audio quality made me re-think that. We'll have Brittany on the show soon. However, I couldn't let Veterans Day go by without mentioning it. So today, I'm sharing about our past military life and what Veterans Day means to me! • How to Grow Your Audience Authentically?

    Hey Friends -

Well, it's officially November, the holiday Starbucks drinks are out, and Christmas music is playing on SiriusXM, so it's the Christmas season in my book. Christmas is my favorite holiday, and I try to make it last as long as possible.

Today on the podcast, we are talking about growing your audience authentically by utilizing the intimacy that podcasting brings more than any other medium. When I first learned about podcasting – One of the things that drew me to it was that people could listen to episodes of their favorite show when they wanted, but podcasts also opened up a whole new worldwide audience that wasn't restricted by the limitation or "gatekeeping" of traditional media.
