What if the skills and passions God has given you could make a difference in someone's life? Nicola Topsom of Advance International shares how her ministry is bringing clean water to communities affected by flooding in Nepal, providing meals to families in Haiti, and delivering much needed food to those facing hardship in Cuba. Also, David Bogosian of A Third of Us Alliance highlights how local believers in India are reaching entire communities through Church planting and discipleship. Tune in to discover how ordinary acts of service can open doors for the Gospel and how you can take your own next step in the Great Commission.
In early 2024, police arrested Brother Manish, a pastor in India, ahead of a planned evangelistic outreach in his village. Manish was not afraid of being thrown in jail. He trusted the Lord and believed God brought him to the prison for a purpose.
Manish was accused of "forcing" people to leave their family religion and become Christians, violating the state's anti-conversion laws. He told officials he wasn't forcing anyone to convert; he was simply sharing the transforming message of the gospel. People were freely choosing to leave their old ways and experiencing new life.
You'll hear how Manish's family was held at the police station, forcing him to turn himself in. His father encouraged Manish to be bold as a follower of Christ, and his son hugged him in the police station and encouraged him: "Father, we have to do God's work."
In jail, Manish was continually pressured not to share the gospel and to renounce his faith in Christ. He was hung upside down and beaten by the police officers, an attempt to break his spirit and his faith. Yet he remained faithful to Christ.
"Lord, You are bringing me to this jail," Manish prayed, "so here also I will preach the gospel and bring people to Christ."
Pray for Brother Manish and his family and for other persecuted brothers and sisters in India. Join us next week to hear how God opened an amazing door of ministry for Manish inside the prison—with permission from the same warden who ordered his beatings!

GUEST: TOU THAO, former Minneapolis police officer
No one woke up on May 25, 2020 anticipating the country was about to change, that cities were soon to burn, and that the Marxist woke movement, including Black Lives Matter and Defund the Police, were going to take off. But that’s what happened when George Floyd, a drug-user with a long criminal history was arrested after passing a counterfeit $20 bill at a Minneapolis market.
With methamphetamine and a high level of fentanyl in his system, Floyd resisted arrest for over ten minutes, leading to one of the four officers, Derek Chauvin, employing the department-approved Maximal Restraint Technique (MRT), where the suspect is handcuffed face down and the officer’s knee is placed on the upper back near the neck in order to subdue the suspect until emergency medical services (EMS) arrive.
Video of a white police officer with his knee holding down a prone black man for nine minutes crying out “I can’t breathe” and calling for his mother spread like wildfire across social media. When EMS finally arrived, Floyd was loaded in to the ambulance and taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The narrative was instantly cemented—police brutality and systemic racism.
According to the documentary, The Fall of Minneapolis, produced by Alpha News, the official autopsy showed that Floyd died of cardiac arrest, with the drugs in his system as a contributing factor, rather than solely from the restraint technique used by Chauvin. No matter—a perfect storm had been whipped up in order to make political gains.
Minneapolis burned with riots night after night. The 3rd police precinct was abandoned and torched by rioters. Riots spread to 140 cities across the country leading to the largest civil unrest damages in U.S. history.
One of the four Minneapolis police officers on scene that day was Tou Thao. Thao never touched Floyd but instead kept bystanders at bay. All four officers would be jailed and charged—Thao with “aiding and abetting” murder. Thao was sentenced to over five years in prison, serving three.
Now released, Tou Thao joins us to tell us about the George Floyd incident and how God providentially and graciously used the miscarriage of justice against Thao to bring him to saving faith in Christ.

Humility: What is it? Can it be defined in actions, or actions not widely known. Should Humility be something that we as Christians should strive for in our personal lives?
