Christian Working Moms to Stay at Home Moms: Discovering Home episodes

  • What Does the Bible Say About Success for Christian Mom?

What does the Bible say about success for Christian moms who feel like they’re never doing enough?

If you’ve ever wondered whether you’re accomplishing enough, earning enough, or making the “right” choices for your family, this episode of Discovering HOME is for you. We’re taking a closer look at what biblical success really means—and what changes when we stop measuring our lives by the world’s standards and start measuring them by faithfulness to God.

I’ll share part of my own story, including why I took an $80K pay cut to be home with my daughters, and what that decision taught me about obedience, surrender, and trusting God with the outcome. We’ll look at Jesus as our ultimate example of success and consider what it means to faithfully steward what God has entrusted to us—even when there’s no applause, visible fruit, or guarantee that our choices will look successful to the world.

This episode is for the Christian mom who is tired of striving and wants to discover a more faithful, freeing definition of success.

  • From Career to Stay-at-Home Mom: Trusting God for Your Financial Provision w/Leslie Ramirez

What if coming home wasn't the end of your gifts — but the beginning of a new season? One mom's story of leaving her career, trusting God's provision, and finding purpose at home.

In this conversation, I’m joined by Leslie Ramírez. Leslie is a wife, mom, and the host of Good Regardless podcast. Leslie understands what it's like when God calls you out of your career into a more intentional life at home. We had an honest conversation about leaving a career, becoming a stay-at-home mom, learning to live on one income, and trusting God with a future that doesn’t look the way you originally imagined.

Leslie shares her journey from a career-focused life into motherhood and a more home-centered way of living, including the difficult seasons that helped reshape her identity and deepen her relationship with God. We talk about what happens when our careers become part of how we define ourselves, and what it looks like to discover that our true identity is found in Christ.

We also talk honestly about the financial and relational side of becoming a stay-at-home mom—including the vulnerability of depending on your husband financially, the importance of communicating about the kind of family life you want, and what it means to trust God as your ultimate provider.

If you’re a Christian working mom wondering whether you could actually afford to leave your career, how one income could work, or whether coming home means giving up your purpose, this conversation will encourage you to consider a different possibility: coming home doesn’t mean losing your purpose. It may be the beginning of discovering a new way to live it out.

In this episode, we talk about:

    • Leaving a career and becoming a stay-at-home mom
    • Learning to live on one income
    • Marriage, provision, and trusting your husband
    • Moving from financial independence to dependence on God
    • Finding your identity beyond your career
    • Motherhood and home as a calling
    • The pressure to “have it all” and cultural definitions of success
    • Why coming home doesn’t mean becoming purposeless
    • Using your gifts and career skills in a new season

  • Own Your Stay-at-Home Mom Identity and Drop "I'm Just a Mom"

If you're a mom who has ever said "I'm just a mom," or a working mom afraid your stay-at-home mom identity will feel small next to the career you'd leave behind, this episode shows you what the work of motherhood actually takes and why it carries more weight than that little word suggests.

I spent nearly 20 years in public service before coming home to raise my daughters. I open with a teenage girl who said she wouldn't try so hard if she was only going to be a mom, then show what one small word does to how we value ourselves. I also share my honest answer to a question I've asked myself: would I have chosen a different education if I'd known I'd end up at home?

If you're a Christian working mom drawn toward home and wondering what your worth looks like once you get there, this one is for you.
