Christianity Now Narrations

Social approval is often a measure of self-worth, many find themselves ensnared in the constant pursuit of validation from others. This pervasive need can impede personal growth and spiritual well-being. As believers, it is vital to understand the difference between seeking affirmation from people and from God. The scriptures provide necessary insights into why we should anchor our self-worth in our relationship with God rather than in the fleeting approvals of man

One of the most quoted scriptures from the Book of Proverbs is: "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6). This wisdom, ancient yet timeless, offers profound guidance for nurturing children. However, the depth of this proverb extends far beyond a simple admonition; it encompasses a holistic view of understanding and fostering a child's inherent strengths.

In a culture increasingly characterized by secular skepticism and apathy towards spiritual matters, a pernicious falsehood often whispered in the ears of believers is that the task of evangelism is redundant, ineffective, or even futile. This misleading sentiment can be summarized as follows: "Basically everyone has already heard the Gospel, hardly anyone wants the Gospel, and talking to others about the Gospel is not worth the effort and rejection." As diligent students of the Word and steadfast followers of Christ, it is our duty to challenge this deception with the truth and guidance of Scripture.

Maintaining a balanced view of our worth is crucial. This balance avoids two extremes: overestimating our importance to God and underestimating the value He places on us. Each extreme carries its own dangers and pitfalls.

Baptism stands as a central tenet in Christian theology, viewed not simply as a symbolic gesture but as a sacramental act of spiritual significance. This article explores baptism as a divine act where God Himself is the principal agent, and the believer a willing participant in a transformative covenant.

In the journey through the Acts of the Apostles, we encounter diverse personalities whose experiences and actions significantly shaped the early Christian Church. One such figure is Apollos, an eloquent Jew from Alexandria, whose story unfolds in Acts 18:24-28. His initial incomplete understanding of the gospel raises a compelling question: Was Apollos a false teacher or merely mistaken? Understanding the difference between these two categories offers vital insights for today’s believers.

In an age dominated by digital interactions and social media, a concerning trend has emerged—one that challenges the foundational Christian virtues of modesty and humility. A recent viral post on Facebook invites mature women to prove their beauty through photographs, leading to an overwhelming response that not only glorifies physical appearance but often ventures into provocativeness. As Christians, it is imperative to reflect on this phenomenon through the lens of Scripture and Church teachings to understand its spiritual implications and guide our conduct online.
