A successful mission is evaluated by how well the objective is accomplished. In the world’s eye the more people impacted or the greater the impact of the mission the more successful the mission. We notice that when Jesus Christ enters history he is essentially rejected by the world. Yet the angels sing praises to God for what he has done. How can this be the case? How can heaven rejoice in a mission that was essentially thwarted by the world and the rulers of this age? How can there be joy when it seems that all has failed. If you are curious about these questions please stay tuned as we hear, "The Lord of gods: Caesar’s Kingdom?"

We studied the song of Moses last week. This is a song where Moses celebrates the victory of the Lord. This is a glorious song. We left off with a claim that we have a better song and are at a better place in covenant history/ How can this claim be made? How can we be in a better place considering that we have not seen a sea split in two? We are going to see that the Song of Mary is a superior song. If you are curious to hear why this is a superior song please stay tuned as we hear, "The Lord of gods: Provisional and Eternal."

The Psalmist says, "Why do the nations rage?" This is a strange question when we consider that Egypt held Israel captive for 400 years. Why would they cease from raging since the Lord is silent? What has God done to show that HIs name is the Lord? When the Lord acts we see why the nations should not rage. However how does this action on behalf of Israel encourage us? How can we say that we are on a better side of covenant history? If you are curious about these questions please stay tuned as we hear, "The Lord of gods."

Last week we saw the contrast of two kings: Herod and Christ. Herod wanted absolute power, but the magi still worshiped Christ in his peasant home. As we move to the end of Matthew’s Gospel we meet the glorified Christ. Christ states that He has received all authority on heaven and earth. How can Christ say this? Has he become a new Herod tyrant? What has changed as Christ commissions His disciples from this mountain? If you are interested in these questions please stay tuned as we hear, "The Greater Exodus King."

The Lord has stated that His seed will triumph over the Serpent’s seed. However, the actual details of this coming to pass are not made known. Micah assured Israel that despite their horrible position the coming redeemer is coming. So now we turn to Matthew’s gospel to witness the Magi coming to visit the great king of the Jews. Who are these Magi? How does Israel receive her king who has arrived in history? If you are curious about these questions please stay tuned as we hear, "Micah and the Magi."

The covenant people of God are to be the triumphant people through the seed of the woman. When we survey covenant history we see that this does not appear to be the case. In fact, it seems that the people of God are weak, defeated, and those who have shamed the holiness of their Lord. Where is the hope? What is the basis to continue? Has the Lord forsaken His promise? Micah gives us the assurance that God has not failed. Please stay tuned as we listen to, "The Christmas Warrior Shepherd."

So why did Christ have to die on the cross? Was the death of Christ accidental? Was this intended with the first presentation of the gospel? When was the gospel first presented? How do we know that the gospel is not merely a new testament doctrine? If you are interested in these questions please stay tuned as we hear, "The First Christmas Blessing and Curse."
