Today’s Scripture reflections for the Fourth Sunday of Lent (Laetare Sunday):
First Reading (Joshua 5:9a, 10-12): God removes the shame of Egypt, leading His people into the freedom of the Promised Land.
Responsorial Psalm (Psalm 34:2-3, 4-5, 6-7): Taste and see the goodness of the Lord.
Second Reading (2 Corinthians 5:17-21): In Christ, we are made new creations, reconciled to God and entrusted with the ministry of reconciliation.
Gospel (Luke 15:1-3, 11-32): Jesus tells the parable of the Prodigal Son, revealing a Father whose radical mercy restores, redeems, and rejoices over His returning children.
Through these readings, we are invited to step into the depth of God’s mercy, to leave shame behind, to embrace true reconciliation, and to live as people of hope and restoration during this Lenten season of renewal.
