The October 6 edition of Chris X Radio on KSEV AM 700 tackles the media firestorm over President Trump’s remarks about Los Angeles and San Diego, new polling on Hispanic voters, the planned execution of Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan, the Texas Senate race, Harris County spending, the death penalty and a full slate of listener calls.
Chris opens by playing President Trump’s actual remarks after multiple media personalities and Democratic officials portrayed Trump as encouraging Iran to attack Los Angeles and San Diego. Chris argues that the comments were taken out of context and that Trump was instead pointing to Iran’s reduced ability to threaten major American cities.
The reaction quickly expands to statements from Gavin Newsom, Karen Bass, Todd Gloria and other Democratic officials, all of whom criticized Trump’s remarks. Chris says their interpretation reflects a broader pattern of political and media figures seizing on abbreviated clips rather than full context.
The show also turns to midterm polling, where Chris cites a Rasmussen survey reporting that Hispanic likely voters favored Republicans 50% to 42%, even while Democrats maintained a smaller overall generic-ballot lead. Chris argues that the numbers challenge a common narrative about Hispanic voters abandoning the GOP.
Another major topic is convicted Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan. Chris discusses reports that Hasan will be executed by firing squad for the 2009 attack that killed 13 people and wounded dozens of others.
Texas politics also dominates the program. Chris discusses James Talarico’s record on police funding, the ongoing Senate race against Ken Paxton, and campaign arguments over gender policy, crime and conservative turnout. These portions reflect Chris’s and callers’ political opinions and interpretations.
One of the strongest caller moments comes from Doctor Chris in Cypress, who says he is tired of Republicans complaining about messaging, polling and imperfect candidates instead of simply voting. He also discusses Harris County politics and advocates for Orlando Sanchez in the county judge race.
Later, Chris criticizes Harris County spending and property taxes, arguing that Democratic leadership inherited a large surplus and has since moved into deficit while raising taxes.
Caller Joe from Sugar Land then sparks a serious debate over the death penalty, religion, murder and child sexual abuse. Chris argues that capital punishment should remain available for the most serious crimes.
The closing segments return to Ken Paxton, James Talarico, Harris County crime and Texas politics, with several callers weighing in before Chris wraps the Two-for-Tuesday edition.
