Chronicles of the Pied Piper of Hamelin episodes
- Pied Piper of Hamelin written by Simba Mudonzvo (Audiobook Audition #3 By Jeremy Griffin)
About This Episode:
This is an audiobook audition by Jeremy Griffin (from ACX) of the first chapter titled "Where are the children?" This is a reading of the final version in the book.
The Pied Piper of Hamelin:
The Pied Piper of Hamelin is the name of a legendary folktale about the Pied Piper who came to the rescue of a small little German town called Hamelin! The Pied Piper was hired by the town to use his magic pipe to stop the rat pandemic (not too dissimilar to the Covid-19 Pandemic). However, when the town's mayor refused to pay for the Pied Piper's services, the Pied Piper took revenge and used the magic pipe once more to take the town's children away forever!
About Robert Browning:
Robert Browning was a prolific Victorian-era poet and playwright. He is widely recognized as a master of dramatic monologue and psychological portraiture. According to Wikipedia, He was noted for irony, characterization, dark humour, social commentary, historical settings and challenging vocabulary and syntax (The same writing style I employed when re-telling the Pied Piper of Hamelin in the new book!). He has come to be regarded as one of the most important English poets of the Victorian period. He is famous for writing "The Pied Piper of Hamelin" Poem. Read more about Robert Browning.
New Pied Piper of Hamelin by Simba Mudonzvo
The Pied Piper is a divisive figure - some see him as treated unfairly by the people of Hamelin others see him as the villain who took innocent children away as revenge for not being paid. Whichever way you see it, the Pied Piper deserves a SECOND CHANCE, a second chance to tell us his side of the story, a second chance of perhaps finding the missing children (if they are still alive!), a second chance to tell us a bit more about magic piper and his magical musical powers!
I am a big fan of Harry Potter and its world, and thought to explore the world of magic and music all through the eyes (and narration) of the Pied Piper!
