Two of the prisoners with Joseph are given dreams. Joseph now has the ability to determine what these dreams mean. He has matured in his gifting and gives correct interpretations of the dreams. Ultimately he is given the opportunity to interpret the dreams of Pharaoh, which requires someone to bring wisdom to a dire situation. God takes Joseph from prison and makes him the second most powerful man in all of Egypt so that his blessing can be used to blessed others.

Evil continues to find itself in humanity and the encounter between Judah and his daughter-in-law is the pinnacle of hypocrisy. But through the failures of His people, God continues to produce a people for Himself and His glory. And it is through this lineage that God ultimately sends His rescuer into the world.

The brothers of Joseph were jealous of how Jacob treated Joseph, so they took matters into their own hands and removed Joseph, thinking that would solve the problem. But God did not forget Joseph or the promise made to Abraham.
