Genesis 13-14

Abram and his nephew, Lot, split because their resources were so overwhelming to have together. But the resources of Lot were not enough to protect him when trouble came. So Abram went and fought to rescue his family the people that he lived amongst. During that victory, Abram declared his allegiance to the God who rescued him and refused to receive blessing other than from God.
