  • Are The Words in the Bible God's Words?

Dr. Dennis Hall, ordained minister, begins by pointing out that surveys demonstrate that only one in four Americans believe that the Bible is the literal word of God. He looks at the things that point to the understanding that the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God. Most Americans downplay the role that God had in the creation of the Bible. He points out that many Christians experience the confirmation that the Bible is the Word of God through the conviction of the Holy Spirit that lives within them.  Dr. Hall proceeds to explain the ways that Jesus presents the Old Testament as the inspired Word of God. Jesus charged his disciples to be the messengers to carry the Gospel of Truth to the world by creating the New Testament and that he would leave the Holy Spirit to guide and teach them.  Dr. Hall provides ample logic and evidence that the Bible is the literal Word of God.

  • Evil, God and Pain

Ordained minister Dennis Hall and his guest Justin Bohner, Assistant Pastor of First Baptist Church, Highlands, North Carolina discuss what we mean when we call someone or something evil and where evil comes from. The role that evil plays in Christianity and its necessity for the Christian faith is explored. They establish that the worst kind of suffering is emotional pain and the stress caused by emotional pain is the root of most physical illnesses. They point out that suffering is at the very center of the Christian gospel. Jesus promised that his followers would be persecuted and suffer. Followers of Jesus should expect to suffer but can expect an eternity free from evil, pain, and suffering.

  • Miracles or Myths

Ordained Minister Dennis Hall and his guest Reverend Jim Murphy, Pastor of Christ Anglican Church in Cashiers, North Carolina share stories of miracles in contemporary times.  Famous miracles in the Old Testament are talked about along with their favorite miracle stories.  They point out that the resurrection and ascension of Jesus is the greatest miracle In the Scripture.  Dr. Hall identifies the changing of water into wine as a miracle aimed at the mundane signaling God is interested in interacting with us today in small matters. How God uses natural laws to achieve an outcome guides their discussion in defining what a miracle is. God's motivation in creating miracles is his desire to expand his Kingdom.

  • Armor of God in an Evil World

Ordained Minister Dennis Hall and his guest Justin Bohner, Assistant Pastor of First Baptist Church Highlands, NC compare the evils in the first century to the evils of today. Their focus is on the teachings of the Apostle Paul in Ephesians chapter six. Paul is encouraging Christians to put on the full armor of God using a Roman soldier's battle attire to outline believers' means of defense when facing evil. Paul describes the Word of God as the sword, an offensive weapon when facing Satan's attacks. They end the podcast by acknowledging that prayer is the Christian's constant communication and contact with God. God has asked believers to combat the spiritual forces of evil and know that they are filled with the Holy Spirit, joined by God's warriors standing their ground, defending the truth, speaking boldly and praying for one another.

  • Abortion and the Connection with School Shootings and Street Violence

Ordained Minister Dennis Hall discusses the impact that 63,459,00 abortions have had on women and the moral fabric of America.  He carefully spells out the reasons that Christians are passionately opposed to abortion. Fifty percent of women who obtained an abortion said they were not sure about the procedure at the time and fifty percent indicated that they felt it was morally wrong while undergoing an abortion. The abortion industry has gone to great lengths to downplay the short-term and long-term physical risks for women for both surgical and chemically induced abortions.  Quoting the famous Mother Teresa, "If we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another?" America has a moral hole, and it appears that there is a correlation between our country's liberal abortion laws that allow the murder of babies in the womb and the carnage that we see in school shootings and in the streets of Chicago and other cities.

  • Christians Should Submit-Except

Ordained minister Dennis Hall discusses the difference between anarchist views about protests and civil disobedience and biblical submission. After reviewing the instructions in Romans 13 that outline the reasons to submit to society's authorities. He points out the many times that civil disobedience is seen in the Scripture. The Protestant reformation remains the most famous protest in the world. Christians do protest people and presidents that disparage the image of God, policies, and practices that fall short of loving neighbors, and systems that privilege some and exploit others. Christians protest the politics of the world that killed the author of life, Jesus Christ, and is dead set on killing his disciples. He closes the podcast by pointing out the questions that Christians should ask before participating in a protest or civil disobedience. The Scripture demands that we pray for our leaders and for God to intervene in His time to change any ungodly path that they are pursuing.

  • Dishonoring Your Father and Mother

Ordained minister Dennis Hall and his guest Pastor George Whirley at the New Creation Restoration Church and Prison Ministry in Indianapolis, IN discuss the fifth commandment, "Honor your father and mother so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you." (Exodus 20:15) They point out that the word honor means to place a high value on someone, a level of reverence. The way parents help children avoid the evils of the world are reviewed along with the importance of honoring parents as part of the passing of the Christian faith to the next generation. The many ways that children of all ages dishonor their parents are part of this discussion.  The Scriptural command to honor parents does not diminish when parents do not seem worthy of honor. Honoring parents is critically important and potentially costly, but it is the way we honor God.

  • Patriotism VS Christianity

Ordained minister Dennis Hall discusses the things that create the emotional attachment to our nation, America.  The sacrifices that have been made to ensure religious freedom and the contemporary state of religious freedom in the United States are part of this discussion.  He outlines the many ways that Christianity is being attacked. It is pointed out that the Scripture makes it clear that the citizenship of Christians is in heaven. For Christians, God is King-not man. As much as America is loved by those who call it their homeland, it is only a temporary government that is destined to give way to a better government with a better king where sorrow, pain, and death will not exist. Listeners are urged to exercise their freedom to vote based on their evaluation of whether a candidate is going to protect our religious freedoms and stand for laws and regulations that are consistent with the morality taught in God's Word.

  • Can't Forgive? Consequences?

Ordained Minister Dennis Hall and his guest Jay Powell, Senior Pastor of Church at the Beach in Panama City Beach, Florida discuss the teachings of Scripture that require Christians to be forgiving people and how failure to do so impacts the relationship with Jesus. A wide variety of causes of hatred and bitterness are addressed. Their discussion recognizes that almost everyone experiences temporary periods of an unforgiving spirit but the professed Christians who choose to remain unforgiving should be troubled by 1 John 4:20, "Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother or sister whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen." The prison that one with an unforgiving spirit is confined is described. Before ending this podcast with prayer, the steps necessary to cure the bitter heart are described.

  • Transgenderism-An Ancient Sin-Modern Day Mental Disorder

Ordained minister Dennis Hall discusses the cultural movement known as transgenderism. He defines this movement and explores what the Bible has to say about men and women attempting to change their biological gender. Transgenderism is then subjected to the views of the Americans College of Pediatricians and Dr. Paul R. McHugh the former chief of psychiatry at John Hopkins Hospital. This fascinating presentation concludes that it is not possible to change a person's gender and efforts to do so are not pleasing to God. Christians are urged to be courageous about Bible teaching on transgenderism and compassionate with those who have been caught up in this movement.
