Since Church Militant aired our special report last week on Chicago Cardinal Blase Cupich failing to report a case of sexual abuse of a minor involving his predecessor, Chicago Cardinal Joseph Bernardin, we have received numerous contacts with much more information.
The Chicago archdiocese for the past 30 years has been able to keep the wraps on Bernardin's evil with a series of threats, payouts and cover-ups — that is, until now.
For the first time ever, one of Bernardin's sexual assault victims is going public about his abuse at the hands of the homosexual cardinal.
He is on the record — and is none other than the same victim of Cardinal Theodore McCarrick whose testimony last summer brought down that homopredator.
TRANSCRIPT
As we conclude the week of the one-year anniversary of the public exposing of Cardinal McCarrick's evil, Church Militant has been interviewing various notable Catholics to ask their opinion on the state of affairs in the Church.
And remember, the evil which was exposed in the McCarrick revelations were not just isolated to McCarrick — far, very far from it.
Besides his own personal homopredation and corruption, what came to light was the entire network of devil clerics who created and supported — and still continue to support — an environment in which wicked men in miters can prosper.
And given the phony actions to police themselves, we asked our good friend Dr. Taylor Marshall what he sees for the Church in the near future as he peers into his crystal ball.
Today exactly marks the one-year anniversary of the revelations about Theodore McCarrick being a serial homopredator, and on this one-year anniversary, we are bringing you this exclusive investigative report.
Church Militant has been handed documents from personnel in the archdiocese of Chicago who are fed up with the lies and cover-ups.
The papers were kept in the secret vault in the Chicago archdiocese and detail allegations of sexual abuse of a minor by former Cardinal Joseph Bernardin.
Church Militant has also learned that Cardinal Blase Cupich is now under scrutiny by state and federal law enforcement agencies for failing to report.
These documents obtained by Church Militant are just a small sampling of various letters, correspondence, court records and emails we have been given revealing what has been rumored for decades — that Joseph Bernardin was a sexual abuser of both minors as well as adult males.
These specific papers are from 1993–1995 and provide explicit details of accusations against Bernardin stemming from a 1957 sexual assault, including rape of a minor, while he was a priest in Charleston, South Carolina, five years after his ordination.
The documents reveal that the archdiocese of Chicago, the U.S. papal nuncio, the Vatican Secretariat of State and even the papal household all knew of the allegations and yet failed to act on them.
According to the documentation, the sexual assault happened on the property of St. Mary's parish in Greenville, South Carolina and involved both then-Fr. Bernardin and Bishop John J. Russell and was part of a satanic ritual involving desecration of the Holy Eucharist.
The victim eventually contacted the archdiocese in April of 1993, first by phone and later in writing, to report the rape by Bernardin.
As can be seen in this document, the victim had ongoing communication with archdiocese of Chicago Professional Fitness Review Administrator Steve Sidlowski.
The victim even signed and sent a registered letter written directly to Bernardin making the serious accusations and asking him to go public and repent.
A copy of the registered mail receipt, along with the original letter, was also provided to Church Militant. The receipt is signed for by Cardinal Bernardin's office and dated April 8, 1993.
According to the cache of secret documents provided to Church Militant, the victim even twice wrote directly to Pope John Paul II, a fact acknowledged in a letter from Monsignor Leonardo Sandri from the Vatican Secretariat of State to the victim dated Sept. 4, 1993.
It is not known if the letters were ever actually presented to the Pope, but the official letter acknowledging receipt is part of the record.
Having received what could be best described as the professional runaround from Chicago for close to two years, and no substantial response from the Holy See, the victim actually traveled to Rome in 1995 and appeared in person at the Vatican Congregation for Bishops after having written them twice and received no satisfactory response.
As can be seen in this April 3, 1995 letter to the victim from then-U.S. Papal Nuncio Archbishop Agostino Cacciavillan, the correspondence with the charges against Bernardin was even assigned a case number by the nunciature — N. 17. 598.
Like when the victim reported to Chicago and Rome, nothing was ever officially pursued by the nuncio.
Officials from the time that Church Militant spoke with say the charges were viewed as not credible, but no records or notes of any investigation appear to exist. Nothing in the file indicates that any formal investigation was ever begun.
Additionally, the existence of any formal investigation seems extremely unlikely because, as the victim points out to Sidlowski in this 1993 letter, members of any investigative board "are not competent or permitted to" investigate such charges against a cardinal.
Church law restricts the convening of such investigations solely to the pope, and no record anywhere exists suggesting any such investigation was ever convened by Pope John Paul.
What the archdiocese of Chicago tried to do was to trick the victim into revealing all relevant facts so they could discover exactly what the victim knew and then provide the information to Bernardin — an accusation leveled by the victim in the same letter.
All of this documentation was in the secret files of the archdiocese and yet was not reported to then-Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan despite Cupich's claim that the archdiocese was fully cooperating with the state investigation.
In December of last year, Madigan's office stunned the investigative world by reporting that bishops in Illinois — including Cupich — had deliberately failed to hand over the files and names of more than 500 accused priests.
The excuse from Cupich and brother bishops was that names were withheld because the allegations had not been investigated.
Madigan charged the bishops with duplicity:
By choosing not to thoroughly investigate allegations, the Catholic Church has failed in its moral obligation to provide survivors, parishioners and the public a complete and accurate accounting of all sexually inappropriate behavior involving priests in Illinois.
The failure to investigate also means that the Catholic Church has never made an effort to determine whether the conduct of the accused priests was ignored or covered up.
The dilemma now facing Cardinal Blase Cupich is clear: Either produce these documents of which Church Militant was given copies or be charged with destruction of evidence because the documents did, at least at one time, exist.
Additionally, last month, Church Militant sent a media inquiry directly to Cardinal Cupich and multiple staffers asking for a response to what we knew. We received no response.
Law enforcement officials now tell Church Militant that what certainly appears to be a cover-up by Cupich and the archdiocese to protect America's most prominent homosexualist cardinal is only the tip of the iceberg.
In addition to abuse of minors, failure to internally investigate and covering up Bernardin's deeds, officials are now looking into charges directly related to Cupich's tenure in Chicago involving financial misappropriation and corruption.
And while those possible criminal actions are being pursued, as we said at the top of the report, Church Militant has come into possession of much more damning information about Cardinal Joseph Bernardin and accusations against him involving sexual crimes.
On this one-year anniversary, to the day, of the McCarrick revelations, what is now coming into sharp focus is that the Church in America as now constituted was engineered and designed and brought into existence by not one, but two homosexual predators who advanced the careers of multiple bishops who are are still currently serving in senior posts.
We will be rolling all that out in upcoming special reports.
TRANSCRIPT
In Church Militant's continued coverage of the one-year anniversary of the revelations about Theodore McCarrick, today we are focusing on the desire of certain members of the complicit hierarchy to scapegoat McCarrick and just move on.
Today, an interview with Fr. Paul Sullins, who was ordained by McCarrick and says that McCarrick is being used by certain bishops to hide the larger problem of episcopal malfeasance.
Father Sullins has done impeccable research for the Ruth Institute not just showing, but proving the connection between the incidence of homosexual men in the priesthood with the abuse of minors — a near perfect correlation.
And he says there is a definite connection between the current critical state of the Church and presence of homosexual men, ordained by bishops who ignored Church teaching.

If you would be so gracious as to indulge us for a moment, we received this comment under a Vortex earlier in the week: "I honestly have not seen any other site, secular or Catholic, which can illuminate any situation with the blistering clarity of Church Militant."
We receive hundreds of comments and emails and letters practically daily saying very similar things. We thought this particular one was a good summation.
Millions of people now come to Church Militant for their most reliable news and information for what's going on in the Church.
And that is in spite of the fact that bishops and their staffs routinely blast us, calling us every name under the sun, even diabolical or demonic, and accusing us of doing the work of the devil.
And for the record, we have very cordial relationships with a good number of folks in the hierarchy as well as boatloads of priests and religious. It's just that many of them feel it wouldn't be prudent for them to come out and support us. We understand.
But here's the point. Those who routinely blast Church Militant use all kinds of excuses like "they are divisive"; or the traditional one, originated right here in the scheming gay archdiocese of Detroit: "Their tone isn't right."
To tackle those two most common "fake" criticisms — first, "tone" is in the ear of the hearer and for a laity and emasculated clergy used to speaking like old women in the garden club about their pansies, anything said without a saccharine smile and effeminate approach is the wrong "tone."
To this homo-friendly crowd and emasculated bunch, everything gives offense which isn't said with a lisp and conveys no truth.
And as for the "they're divisive" criticism, well, we're actually happy to wear that like a badge of honor.
Our Blessed Lord was divisive, "I have not come to bring peace. I have come to bring the sword."
And more to the point, His critics also called Him divisive and routinely accused him of departing from the accepted practices of the day in his rhetoric and actions.
So, sure; guilty as charged — and happy about it.
Now, why are we saying all this? To encourage you to be the same — not the same as Church Militant, but the same as Our Blessed Lord.
If you are in a parish where the preaching isn't correct, you need to go up to the priest after Mass and, in front of other Catholics, simply ask him flat out: "Are you gay?"
Same with a bishop: "Excuse me, Your Excellency, are you gay?"
And continue: "Why don't you preach the fullness of the truth? Why do you allow this situation or that at the parish or at the chancery or in the diocese?"
These types of men, who are the real devils, the real dividers, will not be able to bear up under the scrutiny of the truth.
You owe this kind of boldness to other Catholics, some of whom are your children or other family — you probably know more than them if you are watching us.
You have been given more in terms of knowledge and that places a greater responsibility on you, just as it does us.
Behind the scenes here, we receive truckloads of tips and information, an overwhelming amount of information from insiders.
In fact, in some ways, we actually know more than even many bishops — like, for example, the preponderance of lesbians in the chanceries around the country, not just gay men in the priesthood.
It's almost gotten to the point that regular Catholics are now reporting more stuff to us than they are the papal nuncio because, frankly, they just don't trust the hierarchy anymore — and, moreover, that's not unjustified.
We know, for example, for a fact that a number of dioceses and bishops around the country have shredded and destroyed all sorts of documents pertaining to the state and federal investigations, covering for their homopredator priests, many of whom have sex with some of these bishops or other chancery personnel.
These men are wicked, vindictive and don't think twice about destroying anyone around them who would out them.
They have created climates of fear akin to North Korea, a charge, by the way, privately and often leveled against the Pope Francis Vatican by folks in Rome we are in contact with.
When evil people seize control, tyranny sets in. Good people who would never even have it enter their minds to behave this way are immediately cowed into fear.
Priests have to go into hiding for fear of their lives, as in the case of Fr. Paul Kalchik, and even, if we need to remind you, as does Abp. Viganò.
These are horrendously dark days for the Church, brought to you by a group of pervert prelates assisted by either fellow homo travelers in the clergy or career-minded clergy — or both. They care nothing for your souls because they don't even care for their own.
And they don't care for their own because they don't believe in God, at least as He is in Himself, because they long ago cast aside their supernatural faith, if they ever had it.
So what other option is there in the midst of all this diabolical disorientation than to proclaim the truth with blistering clarity; to expose the demonic rot and filth.
But here is the reality, as the filth gets more and more exposed, more and more people are seeing the truth of the horrifying situation.
More and more people, every single day, are turning to Church Militant because the truth — however unpleasant, and it most certainly is — cannot be kept hidden forever.
And while we are grateful for the increased eyes on our work, we don't do this just so more people will watch, but rather so that more people will become activists, will become filled with holy zeal to divide, to challenge the status quo, which at the moment is controlled by the James Martin types in the Church.
That is why, after months and months and months of directly avoiding any mention of us, Martin had to finally let the name of the organization which can never be spoken fall from his poisonous lips.
That was from an NBC News piece.
We hope Martin and his fellow travelers all covert and are saved. But it will be a cold day in Hell before Church Militant sits idly by and lets these enemies of Christ destroy the innocent.
So, divisive? You bet.
Blistering clarity? You ain't seen nothing yet.

Progress in the fight against the filth in the Church is slow, no doubt, but its all trending in the right direction.
And this is a word of encouragement — by its very nature, it's going to be slow, for a number of reasons.
First, it’s longstanding. These narcissistic homosexual men who are prelates and influential men have been at this a long time. They have been promoting each other and protecting their pals' moral and legal crimes for decades. They have developed a network of cover-up and relationships that by its very nature, it’s hard to break through.
So no one should be surprised that the going is slow — it's just the nature of the beast.
That said, every time one thing is exposed, other things also get exposed. That's why no one can be discouraged. It's happening. The clean up IS occuring, it’s just that there's a lot to actually clean up.
Look, for example, at the case of Bp. Michael Bransfield in West Virginia, who Abp. Viganò called part of the corrupt homosexual mafia.
A blistering exposé of him and his financial misdeeds and homosexual predation forced him to have to resign, not to mention become a target of investigation by the state attorney general. Hopefully he’ll go to jail.
But when Abp. William Lori arrived on the scene with a mandate from the Vatican to get things straightened up in the diocese, he reverted to the business as usual tactics of "we bishops will take care of things."
The laity essentially told him to drop dead, that they were sick of the status quo and started a campaign they called "Not a Dime for the Diocese."
This came about because they had told Lori earlier they wanted an independent financial auditor to give an accounting of how their money was being spent.
Lori had completely blown them off. In the face of taking over a diocese whose previous bishop had spent a thousand dollars a month on booze, $5 million to renovate his house after a bathroom fire, and was tossing money around to multiple prelates, Lori had the gall to ignore their requests for financial transparency.
That’s how this whole instutitional gay and gay-friendly crowd works: They think the Church and its money is actually theirs.
So the good Catholics in the Mountain State said: That's it. No more money. And just before they launched their campaign, which they had become very public about, Lori folded like a cheap suit.
He announced there would be an independent outside auditor after all. The threat of money sucking out of the diocesan coffers while a state-level investigation was going on at the same time — well, money talks.
And for the record, we’d like to encourage the good catholics in West Virginia: Do not trust Lori or this crooked establishment. Frankly, they lie.
You need to remain vigilant. They hire their friends, or relatives, or people connected in other ways — people they have some influence over — so they can appear to be transparent, but in effect, just shifting the cover-up to another arena.
Do not let up, Hokies. Stay with it. Get details on the firm, ask further questions and keep asking them. And when the first report comes out, have it reviewed by another firm.
Ask if there is any relationship of any kind between the diocese and the "independent" auditor. Most importantly, how was the auditor chosen, by whom, based on what?
And this news brings us to the larger point of this Vortex: The only way to get things done with this crooked crowd is to expose them. And it is the only way.
If The Washington Post had not been tipped off by a whistleblower in the diocese and followed up on all that, Bransfield would still be boozing it up and sexually assaulting seminarians and traveling around on a private jet.
Last month Church Militant launched our Action Arm to begin accelerating the exposure of this filth.
We have a number on investigations running concurrently — and to just refresh your memory, our Action Arm brings together whistleblowers, investigators we hire, and then takes the findings to law enforcement.
Since launching the Action Arm, Church Militant has been contacted by various insiders with all sorts of dirt and details, names, places, etc. And so you know, it’s worse than you think.
That said, we are making a special appeal here to the whistleblower.
We completely understand your desire to remain anonymous. You work for these crooked men and many of you tell us how you live in fear of retaliation, either against you as priests or laypeople as providers for your families.
But please understand, we need to be able to speak to you. It isn't enough to simply send us information or a letter saying what's going on. We have to be able to follow up with you. We are not going to reveal your identity.
And allow me personally here to make reference to my professional background. You may or may not know I was a paid professional journalist for almost my entire career. I won multiple Emmy awards for reporting and producing.
All of those awards were for investigative reporting and, as a matter of routine, I spoke with informants and whistleblowers and insiders inside political campaigns, corporations and government offices. It's what I went to work practically every day and did. I have never revealed a source or given them up. And I have been in this business for almost my entire professional life.
The Special Reports we have been able to air on people like Bernardin or McCarrick or Bp. Seratelli in Paterson, New Jersey, or the arrogance and cove-up and lies of Bp. Malone in Buffalo, or the canon law violations by Abp. Rodi in Mobile, Alabama, or the moral crimes in the archdiocese of New York, or the rot going on in the Fresno diocese, is because we have been able to actually speak with the informants.
The information we are getting from inside various dioceses and archdioceses is a fantastic start. Keep it coming.
Taken collectively, it paints a dreadful picture of how horrible things have gotten in the Church and how great the need is for it all to be exposed, if there is any natural hope for change.
But being professionals, oftentimes we need to ask follow-up questions, and speak with other people who may be helpful in gathering and assembling the facts.
Allow me to stress with all clarity: Your identity will be kept confidential.
We do not air stories we cannot prove without revealing your identity. You will remain anonymous.
If there's no way for us to air the story without revealing your identity, or even allowing the bishop to pretty much figure it out, we simply don't air it. We are sitting on a number of stories like that right now.
There are priests who would be terrorized by their chanceries if we aired stories we currently have because they would be exposed simply by what we would air, because so few people in the chancery know the information. The bishop or his staff would know instantly who the whistleblower is, so, we don't air it. We have lots of those in the hopper.
We don't need your names to broadcast them. We need your names so we can contact you and ask further questions and get a better understanding — and that's it.
So please, if you are a whistleblower, please have no fear getting in touch with us and giving us your name along with the info your are sending our way. That's how Malone ultimately got exposed for the corrupt liar he is: his insider Siobhan O’Connor went to the local media and cooperated with them, revealing her identity to the reporter long before she revealed herself to the public.
Same thing with the whistleblower in West Virginia who went to the Washington Post.
Media cannot air stories where the sources are anonymous to them (unless of course you're CNN or MSNBC).
Church Militant has higher standards than those fake news outfits, as well as the Catholic Fake News Establishment.
Don't worry about being exposed. You won't be and you have our word on that. So give us a call, say hi, tell us your name and let's get down to business, taking action to help clean up the Church.

Lots of ordinary Catholics sitting in the pews are completely in the dark about how their dioceses operate financially. Let's just say, sometimes, it's a little shady.
Starting with the weekly donations, the parish envelopes: Each diocese actually charges a tax on that collection. Depending on which diocese or archdiocese you are in, it ranges from approximately 7–13%.
Sometimes it's a double tax; they take part now, and then come around and take more later. But be aware, those of you Catholics who may not have really thought much about it and are disgusted that the money you give with the care for the parish in mind that some of that money — let's just average it out at 10% — is going to fuel the downtown bureaucracy and all the pet projects you are never really told about.
Now, if you don't want your money going downtown (not even 10%), then there are ways around this, a little creative financing. Since all Catholics are obligated to support their parish — that must be adhered to, but how you do it — well, now there's lots of room to play with here.
For example, you and a group of like-minded, fed-up Catholics can simply approach the pastor and say you aren't putting money in the basket anymore because you don't want it going to the bishop and his cronies.
And really quickly — of course the bishop and the diocese have legitimate expenses, but they also have very questionable ones. And they are massively lacking in transparency about how much goes where.
Salaries should be published. Legal expenses should be public. How much is being spent protecting errant clergy? In fact, how every last dime is spent should be public. It's your money.
God didn't declare the income and expense sheets should be under papal secret or governed by divine law. Publish the numbers in an understandable format. Until a bishop or archbishop does that, forget it. Cut 'em off.
If they have to tighten their belts like all of us do, so be it. Sell the real estate holdings. Sell the revenue-generating properties.
So, everyday pewsitters, the Catholic peasantry, can simply tell the pastor: We will pay some of the parish bills ourselves.
So, Father, when the water bill or the electricity bill comes in, get it to me and my friends. And whatever we give, all of it will go to the parish itself — not funding the lesbian nuns doowntown running the "religious education" department, or Fr. Social Justice, or the protestant ALPHA nonsense.
Catholics have a right to know and be able to choose and confirm their money, their donations, their charity is being spent the way they want it spent.
A number of parishes around the country have parishioners who have actually set up non-profit corporations and then apply for and get tax-exempt status. The money given to those is tax-free, and every single penny is used to support the parish, and nothing but the parish. The diocese and the local bishop get none of it.
And until trust is restored, they shouldn't be getting any of it.
Now here's a little shady thing that bishops and their cronies do that many Catholics know nothing about, and it's downright sneaky.
Almost every year, nearly every diocese runs some special fundraising campaign. They always have these corny scriptural or theological-sounding names, but they are money grabs.
The archbishop usually does some video which is played in the place of the homily at every Mass, and he drones on about all the good things the money is used for. And sure, it probably does get used for some good things. But again, you never know, and try asking where all of it goes.
So here's the trick: Every bishop is assigned a certain amount they must collect, let's say, for example, $100,000. The parish's assignment is packaged as: Please give generously, and every dime over and above the $100,000 goes straight back to the parish. True enough.
But here's the rub. If a parish does not meet the assigned goal, the bishop just goes into the bank account and takes it out anyway.
And yes, you heard that correctly. "Hello, I'm the archbishop. We are assigning you a 100K assessment. So please donate. Please be generous and charitale. However, if you don't meet the assessment, I'm just gonna raid your bank account and take it anyway."
So, a question here for the financiers in the chancery: How exactly does taking a parish's money against their will qualify as "charity"? Isn't charity something freely given? Taking money from someone they don't want you to have is called theft.
Of course this puts pastors in a massive bind because they don't want the parish bank account raided, so they have the uncomfortable job of essentially being forced — because they are being extorted — to stand up in the pulpit and push a collection many of them don't really support.
But this is how business is done — routinely.
How come the archbishop doesn't say all that in his video which preempts the homily? Please give, or I'm just gonna take it anyway.
It's these kinds of duplicitous, underhanded, sneaky, non-transparent, unaccountable double dealings that are making Catholics close their wallets more and more.
Here's the bottom line: Many bishops and archbishops in the United States live not as servants but as lords of the manor. They have grown up in a system easily given to moral and financial and political corruption because they hide behind the fact that they are the successors of the Apostles and therefore can never be questioned.
That's ridiculous. Not all of them certainly, but too many bishops — many of them very notable — run their dioceses like their own personal 401k's.
Wilton Gregory, for example, now in D.C. from Atlanta, had given the green light to a multi-million-dollar expansion to his house — until he got busted in the secular media and then begged off, saying he didn't realize how it would appear.
Retired Abp. John Myers, who covered up nicely for McCarrick in Newark, New Jersey, spent hundreds of thousands expanding his archdiocesan-owned retirement villa.
And so it goes. There are dozens and dozens of examples like this. You don't need to look any further than Cdl. Dolan's lavish upstate New York pad, which, while it was donated, still costs to maintain.
There's no other way to say this. Catholics in the pews are being taken for fools by too many bishops. They are laughing all the way to the bank, taking your money and refusing to tell you how it's all being spent.
That's what brought down West Virginia Bp. Michael Bransfield, who boozed it up to the tune of a thousand bucks a month (which the Washington Post revealed a few weeks back), forcing him to retire in disgrace.
When will Catholics stop being so foolish? Stop giving these men money each week in the plate. Pay for your parish directly so the bishop doesn't get his cut.
When he goes to raid the bank account each year after failing to get the assigned "charitable" amount, he'll find not enough money in the account.
This financial evil is funding the moral evil and corruption and it's gotta stop. There are too many morally corrupt men who are in the Church's hierachy and clergy for the entirely wrong reasons. Cutting off the money won't solve everything, but it will solve some things, and it's something you can do right now, immediately.
All over the country, unofficial reports are starting to roll in that Catholics are giving less. We need to give even less. No money to the USCCB's annual appeals for their social justice garbage, like CRS and CCHD. No money to the local bishop's annual slush fund — which it might as well be, since you are never told, nor allowed to know, everything the money is spent on.
Cut 'em off.

Even more information and details are coming in to Church Militant now about embattled Michael Hoeppner, bishop of Crookston, Minnesota, whom we featured in yesterday's Vortex.
Here is what Church Militant has now learned, as follow-up information from local Catholics who compiled a timeline with extensive detail regarding one specific priest that Bp. Hoeppner put back into ministry after he and his chancery knew about his psychosexual problems.
The priest in question is Fr. Donald Braukmann. Local Catholics inform us that Fr. Braukmann made a habit of befriending various families in parishes and eventually confiding in them "that he was homosexual, struggled with masturbation and was attracted to adolescent boys. Father Don described [to families] having intense sexual attraction for one specific boy ... ."
Their information to Church Militant continues: "Father Don made a pass at the husband, which caused concern with the couple, and prompted them to split ties with Fr. Don. This was reported initially to the bishop in 2011. Father Braukmann wrote an apology letter to the couple at that time and moved to St. Philip's Parish."
So follow along here: The priest confides all this to a couple, including the part about being intensely attracted to a teenage boy, as well as making a pass at the husband. Bishop Hoeppner is informed of all this and still reassigns Fr. Braukmann — apparently not seeing much wrong with the situation, meaning he determined that a man lusting after teenage boys (and telling parishioners about it) was perfectly fine being assigned to another parish.
Father Don had confided in them about his homosexuality. They described an incident where Fr. Don was overly affectionate and flirtatious with the boyfriend of their teenage daughter. The father of this family took Fr. Don aside and asked him to stop. The flirtation continued and they asked Fr. Don to leave because of his behavior.
As news got around, he was removed and sent to a counseling center for a number of months. During his stay, he admitted going to gay bookstores and having sex with men.
Upon leaving, Bp. Hoeppner was told by the facility that there was a high probability that Fr. Don would relapse into his former behavior.
So, armed with that information, Bp. Hopeppner decided to reinstate him as pastor of St. Phillip's, but complaints from his staff convinced him to make him parochial vicar — but he was still at the parish.
Hoeppner kept the threat to adolescent males secret from the pastor and the congregation. It was told only that he had an attraction to adult males, not teenage boys. Hoeppner deceived his own priests as well as the congregation.
Last month, Hoeppner had the gall to go to the parish at a meeting about Fr. Don and still deny and lie to parishioners, telling them there was never any concern about minors. But various parishioners and laity knew the truth.
This past weekend there was a showdown with the pastor, Fr. Charles Huck, and some of the parishioners.
Here is the relevant part of the testimony Church Militant has received about that meeting. It is extremely telling:
They urge Fr. Huck to admit the truth and get out in front of the deceit as soon as possible for the sake of the parish. Father Huck finally admits he was briefed [by chancery officials] ... about Fr. Don's attraction to adolescents and the complaints made against him. Father Huck stated the bishop did not disclose this information to him. Father Huck is still hesitant to tell the parish the truth, wanting to wait for Rome to decide about what they will do with Bp. Hoeppner. Father Huck was encouraged to tell the parish the truth because the conspiracy he and the bishop are engaging in to deceive the parishioners of St. Philip's is unraveling quickly.
This entire situation is filthy — the lying, the deceit, the cover-up on the part of Hoeppner.
Hoeppner was consecrated bishop by Abp. Harry Flynn, another prime player in the homosexual network of bishops established by Chicago Cdl. Joseph Bernadin.
Braukmann — who died this past summer, God rest his soul — was in seminary at Mundelein in the 1980s, yet another homosexual hotbed.
All of this is raising the serious question: Bishop Hoeppner, are you homosexual?
The question is: Why? Why would a bishop go to the mat for a priest who admitted he lusted after teenage boys and masturbated about it, reinstate him and involve other priests in a cover story that the priest only lusted after adult males?
Of course, the question needs to be asked: Is the bishop homosexual himself and just protecting his own? Is Hoeppner incapable of understanding the filth he is involved in?
He reinstated Braukmann with every single person around him warning him not to do it. Then he lied about the number of people warning him, under oath in a deposition, saying his review board was split. Why does a bishop need a review board — whatever the final vote — to know he should not put an admitted homosexual lusting after teenage boys back into a parish? Why didn't the bishop simply tell Braukmann to apply for laicization?
Here's why: Because he and many other bishops went through seminary back in the gay days and are either gay themselves or embracing of it, and don't think there's really anything wrong with any of this.
That's the answer, and if it's not, Hoeppner needs to give a more plausible explanation, because right now, no other explanation suffices.
Hoeppner knew all this and didn't care.
Hoeppner knew all this and lied under oath.
Hoeppner willfully endangered multiple teenage boys.
Hoeppner involved some of his priests in lying in what became known as the "bishop's story."
Hoeppner — and every bishop in America who operates like him — needs to be removed.
Church Militant has reached out to Abp. Bernard Hebda, who is running the Vatican investigation into Hoeppner. We've asked three questions:
When we receive an answer, we'll let you know. Hoeppner needs to go, and it needs to happen immediately. He lied to the parish. He lied under oath to cover his actions of covering up for a priest lusting after teenage boys.
This has got to end.

Before we begin, a brief programming note: Many of you have been asking us about when we are resuming live-streaming our morning prayer and Rosary at 8 a.m. and evening prayer at 4:45 p.m.
We are happy to announce that we have resumed live-streaming both as of yesterday. Please join us as frequently as you can — 8 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. ET Monday–Friday during normal workdays.
Now, hopefully, the forced early retirement of the lying, cheating Richard Malone as bishop of Buffalo will start the ball rolling. For weeks before — even months — laity quietly prayed and presented in front of the chancery that Malone be gone, that the time had long since passed for him to be gone, in fact.
That same situation is now developing in various other dioceses around the country because faithful laity have had it. They are done with the lies, the pomposity, the arrogance, the superiority of these feckless men.
One such diocese is Crookston, Minnesota, where Bp. Michael Hoeppner, you will recall, is the very first bishop on earth to run afoul of the pope's new rules calling for cover-up bishops to be investigated by another bishop appointed by the Holy See.
And why is Hoeppner being investigated? Because he covered up abuse, lied, threatened with extortion and played very fast and loose with the truth in a deposition from plaintiffs' attorneys.
He is on camera actually saying he doesn't see any real problem with keeping a priest in active ministry who — get this now — actually admits he has a pornography problem, masturbates to thoughts of children, travels out of town where his fantasies become worse and believed his problem was beyond his own control.
After reviewing psychiatrist notes showing all of this self-admitted behavior on the part of the priest, Hoeppner is pretty cavalier.
In another incident — one of many — Hoeppner answers in a way that is simply not credible and gets called out on it by plaintiffs' attorneys.
Consider for a moment, this picture: This is a successor of the Apostles, essentially winging it, speaking more like a CEO than his office, lying and making outrageous claims that even an atheist would be bothered by.
He has no business being kept in office, and to that point, faithful in Crookston agree and have started a petition to have him removed.
Archbishop Bernard Hebda of St. Paul-Minneapolis is leading the Vatican inquiry, and if he comes back with any other suggestion to Rome besides Hoeppner needs to go — like what happened to Malone — then Hebda needs to go.
These types of men have betrayed their office and have no business being in them.
The prayerful demonstrations in front of the chancery, even in freezing temps, have also begun, just like in Buffalo.
Hoeppner needs to go.
But he's not the only one, not by far. As we drift around the diocesan map, we can zoom over to New York, where Church Militant said in 2015 that Cdl. Dolan has no business being a bishop there.
His list of crimes against the Faith is atrocious — from covering up and lying about the Fr. Peter Miqueli case (the gay-for-pay prostitute hired by Miqueli, which made sensational headlines in the secular press), to bulldozing through the St. Patrick's Parade Committee to allow open homosexuals to march, to a host of other scandals not limited to his lavish retreat — a mansion in upstate New York.
But even more, he is setting his successor up for failure by failing to be a model of holiness who attracts and recruits young men to the seminary.
Over 10 years ago when he first came to New York, The New York Times did a piece on Dolan and how his larger-than-life personality would draw millions to St. Joseph's Seminary in New York. After all, this is big, gregarious Timothy Dolan — the laughing, guffawing, back-slapping prelate filled with joy and a magnet for young men to sacrifice their lives for Christ and His Church.
Well, more than a decade later, the numbers are in — and not so much.
Saint Joseph's Seminary opened in 1896 with 96 seminarians. It grew considerably from then. It was built for 280 men. But as of right now, there are just 17 seminarians studying in New York and they are scattered over four years of study.
And bear in mind: Not every seminarian goes on to get ordained. Frequently they discern out of seminary.
This year Dolan will ordain — count them — one seminarian — one seminarian out of almost three million baptized Catholics in the archdiocese of New York.
The life of the clergy in a given diocese and the recruiting efforts are directly tied to the holiness of a given bishop. There's a story that sums this up. A bishop was meeting with some of his staff and lamenting the low number of seminarians in his diocese.
When he asked what ideas the staff had to boost the numbers, his vicar general answered, "We wouldn't have a problem at all if you were a better example of holiness."
I don't know if the vicar general got shipped off to St. Luke's a short while later, but you get the point.
Who among the U.S. bishops inspire young men to be like them? What bishop instills confidence and fortitude in a young man in his 20s debating and discerning if Christ is calling him and he is willing to give up wife and family in exchange for a spiritual family?
We know the answer to this question already. All you have to do is look at the current crop of sorry men lying, cheating, constantly campaigning for money and their hokey reputations. No young man would get his inspiration from them.
The plague-ridden seminary in Buffalo under Malone was a disaster, a homosexual hotbed dating from decades earlier.
Dolan's nearly deserted St. Joseph Seminary in New York speaks volumes as you hear little else than echoes up and down the hall, and, for the record, St. Joseph's is the catch-all for two other seminaries in the New York area that had to close up shop for poor enrollment.
And in Crookston, there are — count them — just two seminarians for the diocese of 35,000 Catholics; one is first-year and the other is second-year — in short, plenty of time for either to discern out and leave Bp. Hoeppner with zero ordinations, like he has this coming year and next year.
Bishops who cannot produce seminarians willing to follow them in holiness and commitment need to go. Not only are they destroying the Faith on their watch; they are doing so for the future as well.
