When we think of the Founding Fathers of the United States, we tend to think of middle-aged or even older men. That's understandable because the portraits we have are of them in their later years, so the "old dude" image is kind of frozen in our national psyche. But the reality is actually not that close.

Some of the most famous of the Founding Fathers actually qualify as more like "Founding Teenagers" or "Founding Twentysomethings." Look at this list:

    • James Monroe, 18
    • Aaron Burr, 20
    • Alexander Hamilton, 21
    • James Madison, 25
    • John Paul Jones, 28
    • Thomas Jefferson, 33
    • And the old guys:

      • John Adams, 40
      • Paul Revere, 41
      • George Washington, 44
      • They had heart, faith and grit.

And while drawing comparisons to our current crisis, we should also bear in mind that it was a very small minority of men who would prove to be patriots who rose up against their oppressors. The overwhelming majority of colonists, enormous numbers, did not fight in the War of Independence.

There were enormous odds for these young guys because the British did have every advantage, on paper at least. But they had heart, faith and grit. They had a lust for justice. That should serve as a hope and inspiration for today's Catholic youth.

Here at Church Militant, this is what we have been trying hard to cultivate for quite a number of years now. And ready or not, the war has now arrived at their doorstep, as every poll, survey and report from this disastrous midterm shows it was huge numbers of their peers who helped build the blue wall to prevent the red wave.

That was especially true in states that had abortion directly on the ballot. For example, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, home to the University of Michigan (just down the road here from Church Militant), the lockstep, crazy, anti-God student body voted a whopping 94% to 6% in favor of the child-killing Democrats and helped pass the most murderous abortion law in the land.

It was a very small minority of men who would prove to be patriots.

They have been completely brainwashed after decades of socialist and communist teachers indoctrinating them their whole lives. They are the future of the nation that must have a group of their peers to combat them.

That, among many things, is what we are trying to create here at Church Militant. One of those young guys here is Joe Gallagher. His mom says to call him Joseph. Joe has been here, practically grown up here, since he was a little brat at the age of 9.

Now he is the head of Church Militant Resistance at the tender age of 25, like some of the Founding Fathers. He recently cut this quick video, explaining life and work here at Church Militant and what needs to happen, moving forward, in the face of the reality unearthed by the midterms.

A personal reflection, if I may, on the very sad and disappointing outcome of the midterms: We got out of the studio here around 2:30 in the morning after a nearly nine-hour marathon. As I was driving home in the dark of the wee hours in the morning, my thoughts raced. I went to bed very sad, and woke up sad but accepting of a new reality.

It's not that the world suddenly changed in the wake of the midterms. It's that the midterms simply revealed kind of a final presentation of what had been brewing for quite a while. And what that is, is simple: There has been a foundational shift in civilization.

Looking at this, as I said, from a very personal point of view, stay with me here. I'm 61. The institutions that were the embodiment of cultural life no longer exist. In my life, those would be America, the military, Notre Dame and the Church.

This is simply no longer the same country — in any way, shape or form — as it was when I was young. During the nation's bicentennial (July 4, 1976), I got up at 5 in the morning and watched the wall-to-wall coverage on CBS of the nation's 200th birthday.

I still play Lee Greenwood's God Bless America in my Jeep and belt it out when I'm alone. And yes, I get goosebumps. Now, the country that my heart used to beat so proudly for supports child murder en masse, not by judicial fiat, but now by the will of the voters — and expect that to sweep the nation in the next election cycle or two. It glorifies and celebrates sodomy. It increasingly supports the putrefaction of the minds of children.

The U.S. military: I grew up on U.S. Air Force bases in England, Texas and California. I used to ride my bicycle along the flight lines, racing the fighter jets thundering down the runway. I loved the U.S. military. I remember being in middle school when the troops came back from Vietnam and were vilified, thanks to the press. I seethed inside.

Now, the woke mob is converting our military into a brain-washed collection of out-of-shape liberal kids with guns.

There has been a foundational shift in civilization.

I went to Notre Dame, graduating in 1983. I had wanted to go there since I was 7. I worked my tail off in school to get there. Once there, I got elected as freshmen hall president in the first week. I was so excited about being there, I was given the nickname "Rah-Rah." It stuck. I even tried out for leprechaun but was disqualified for being too tall.

Now, the place is a theological wasteland — not just "protecting" LGBT students, but actively promoting perversions of all kinds. And then there is the Church, not as She in Herself, but the laughable group of so-called leaders who are nothing but weak, socially polite, effeminate men (some of whom are truly evil, the rest of whom are absurd in their cowardice).

She is still eternal, always will be, because She is the embodiment of the Eternal Logos. But the human aspect has reached all-time lows, and considering the temporal history is 2,000 years, that's saying a lot. But regardless of it being a lot, it's true.

So for our generation raised on church, country, military and being true to your school, the depth of this inversion is soul-shattering. Looking around from an earthly perspective, there's nothing left — and that is a frightful gun barrel to stare down. It's all gone.

And that's not just some sad emotional overresponse. The hard truth is it's really been gone for a while. We just haven't realized it probably because we didn't want to admit it. I had that same feeling when my parents and I were having the follow-up visit with my mom's cancer doctor a few months after her surgery.

In the face of my mom's inability to improve, I asked when things would get better. He very matter-of-factly said the cancer had advanced to stage 4. There was nothing more to be done. "You have a few months left, Mrs. Voris." It was like being immediately transported into a fog of unreality.

No, America is not dead, but stage 4 has arrived, and there is nothing more to be done. The last tactic of politics has proved unable to cure the sickness. It's just too far gone.

So now, as the fog begins to lift, we have to ask ourselves, what of the few remaining youths who have not immersed themselves in a world of pornography in their parents' basement, counting their participation trophies and making abortion the center of their universe?

There are still some young people who reject all that. I know some of them. They work here at Church Militant. They are young and dating or engaged or newly married or even expecting. They are quickly shaping up to be the antitheses of their peers.

America is not dead, but stage 4 has arrived.

Are they not worth the fight — a fight that is developing into one of preservation more than advancement? Those of you in my generation know some of these young folks, and they are worth the fight.

They'll never know the thrill and goosebumps of blaring out the national anthem in a packed stadium, of growing up in a strong America or even a strong vibrant Church. They have been conditioned to be the minority, the weirdos, the heavily scorned. They now have to read about a strong Church and a strong country in dusty books, or listen to my generation tell them how good we once had it. It is sad; there's no doubt about it.

But they deserve the protection and embrace of those of us who know what used to be, those of us who grew up in a world where a man would have been correctly incarcerated for invading a women's restroom dressed as woman, those of us who grew up in a world where horror movies were made about castrating a 10-year-old, and those of us who grew up in a world where the Church knew and preached the truth (as opposed to burying it under a sea of homosexual predators and thieves in collars and miters).

Just because it's all gone doesn't mean it can't one day return. It's just a safe bet it won't return in our lifetimes, or maybe even theirs. But if it is ever to return, it must be preserved and passed on. There must be a transfer of generational wealth, to use an economic term.

We all need something to live for in this life. And while our own salvation must always be the focus, that cannot exclude the instruction and protection of the young.

And finally it has arrived, at long last — what should be the day of reckoning for the communists who have seized so much control of the country and wreaked so much havoc on America.

If there is insufficient cheating (because they always cheat, but if it is insufficient), today should mark the beginning of the "great pushback."

If it goes as expected and the communist Democrats are halted and even forced to retreat (if only for a while), note that by no means is this final victory. It's not even close. But you have to secure your first major win somewhere and today may as well be that day.

Now for Catholics, especially those who do not see the importance of politics from a spiritual and theological point of view, here's what you need to wrap your minds around — and pretty quickly.

There is an all-out war going on between the forces of darkness who have complete control of one political party and partial control over the other.

Long ago, the war was lost on the philosophical ground when giant agenda items like "what is truth?" were simply ceded — surrendered to the notion that everyone's opinion is equally valid. No, all opinions are not equal and they should not be treated as though they are.

Then we lost the war over morality, so evident today in even the GOP that just warmly embraces sodomy as marriage.

Now we are in a pitched battle in the political arena — the last remaining line before all-out civil war. If you love peace and don't want to see violence, then you better get involved on the political front.

Today should mark the beginning of the 'great pushback.'

And let's be clear about this for all the phony or delusional pacifists out there: Violence in and of itself is not immoral; it depends on the circumstances. And sometimes, it's even necessary: self-defense; the subduing of an aggressor threatening the life of your family; the Son of God in the Temple violently whipping the money changers.

The idea that violence must always (at all times) be avoided is not Catholic. Remember the Crusades? Sometimes, violence must be unleashed to protect the innocent.

But lethal violence, because of its drastic, can-never-come-back-from consequences, must never be the first resort. In fact, it must always be the last resort. And then not be allowed to turn into an orgy of dominance over the foe. Nonetheless, violence must always be an option — welcome to a fallen world.

Fortunately, in America at least, we still have a buffer between the ordinary citizen and descent into a violent melee. It's called politics. So as we sit here today, here's the situation: There needs to be a political climate change in America.

The communists — and that is exactly what the Democrats are — have caused a moral ice age to descend on the country: shattered families; devastating spiritual losses; children and young adults hurled into the darkness of drugs, pornography, suicide and fatherless homes.

The young are who a nation turns to for hope. But the young are the victims — and many, many of them live lives of no hope.

All of that is now coming home to roost in terms of the economy as we now plainly see. It will be, today, the economic devastation that drives the Democrats from power (for the time being, perhaps for a generation).

But for however long, good people must see the window of opportunity that will open after today and push their cause.

Murdering children is always wrong and no state should have the power to determine whether a child can be killed (so someone can experience an orgasm). There are no exceptions to the obligation to protect the innocent child's life; none whatsoever. The same is true of marriage and family. Likewise, to guard against the polluting of a young boy or girl's mind at the hands of the communist Democrats under the guise of "education."

And for those of you who still think violence is never an option for a follower of Christ when defending the innocent, would you not take up arms against the destruction of a young soul if that were the only option left?

They don't even have all the power (just most of it), and the Democrats went straight there; raiding school board meetings, arresting parents (the Department of Justice labeling them "domestic terrorists") and looking the other way as Catholic churches and pro-life centers were attacked and burned.

See, the communist bastards always intuit the need of the moment and respond accordingly. They will not hesitate for a moment to either be violent or look the other way in the face of it being deployed against good people.

Good people must see the window of opportunity and push their cause.

We have a military for a reason. We have police for a reason, despite communist efforts to defund them.

The foundational reason is because of Original Sin. Fallen man will always have people who choose to embrace the darkness and destroy the innocent. That's why laws are instituted among men.

But when the evil ones seize control and exercise raw political power to destroy those laws enacted to secure God-given rights, then the people have no choice but to fight back — violently if need be.

It's right there in the Declaration of Independence: "It is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security."

But right now at least, we are not at that point. Thank God. But the reason we are not is because we have a backstop against it in our political process and elections, at least in the ideal.

No Catholic gets to decide he is somehow above the fray of politics — or bored by it all, to be so detached that the things of earth have zero importance — and even revolution if it ever came to that.

An individual is free to decide for himself and himself alone that he will accept the burden of despotism and the yoke of tyranny. But he is not free, through his inaction, to force or allow another to be enslaved. We fought the War of Independence over this issue; the abolitionists fought for this.

The civil rights movement was anchored in this spiritual reality. Justice demands the innocent be protected. Right now, the political system is not in such disarray that we might not find a remedy, a beginning point in it.

But we have a duty before Almighty God — because of the stakes — to be participants in a nonviolent remedy, or as sure as the sun sets in the west, we will be forced to become participants in a violent one.

        TRANSCRIPT

A brief reminder that Church Militant's live election coverage begins tonight at 7 p.m. with a preview of tomorrow's slated slaughter of the socialists. And then, tomorrow night live at 6 p.m., right here on Church Militant, we go live until it's over.

In the meantime, it's all over now but the voting, counting and reporting — and let's hope not any cheating. But speaking of that, have you noticed the polling in the last couple of weeks? It's really split now along two lines: liberal media giants lying through their teeth and then the honest ones.

Giant media outlets like The New York Times usually partner with some secondary outfit like a college or liberal think tank, and together produce a poll that is, shall we say, really wrong. If you go down, for example, a list of many polls, some of them just jump off the page.

All of a sudden last week, with every poll in the country showing major shifts toward Republicans and greatly narrowing gaps for Democrats who had been way ahead weeks earlier, The New York Times' Siena Poll along with another pack of prevaricators at an outfit called "Cygnal" were showing giant numbers in favor of Democrats.

Those polls always skew heavily in favor of the Democrats.

CNN also got in on the action of phony polling but not as badly as the other two. The results are so far out of line with every other poll that it's glaring. Aside from being biased liars, the impact of all that is that they skew the averages of the polls conducted at some sites like Real Clear Politics.

For everyone out there who still thinks Fox News is somehow conservative because a couple of commentary hosts are, remember, Fox news uses the Real Clear average when reporting the toss-up races and never tells its viewers what we just told you — that the averages are skewed by wildly divergent polls.

Those polls also, unsurprisingly, always skew heavily in favor of the Democrats. You'd have to search high and low to find a poll that does this with GOP candidates, even polls done by GOP outfits. It's ridiculous as well as insulting to the common man to release a poll that has such outrageous divergence from others and offer not even an asterisk about it.

You can bet that if it was the other way around and showing Republican dominance, the crazy ladies on The View would release a torrent of sputum against those pollsters and create a whole narrative about White privilege driven by Christian nationalism promoting domestic terrorism (against the innocent) on its way to destroying democracy. Pretty sure we hit all the talking points there; we probably could have tossed in "homophobic climate denial" as well.

Here's the upshot: These are suppression polls meant to change the outcome by depressing the vote of conservatives and giving some encouragement to the Marxist base. Again we'll point out these polls never show outlandish results favoring Republicans. Why is that? Well, asked and answered.

All that said, this should cause America-first voters to take hope at least to some degree. Why? Because it does indicate a measure of desperation by the communist Democrats and their media arm.

These are suppression polls meant to change the outcome.

No serious person could ever believe that for three weeks with soaring inflation and a crashing economy, polls everywhere showing Democrats about to get blown out, that in the last few days, out of nowhere, Americans suddenly switched again and decided to vote back in the very Marxist bastards who have destroyed the country.

Every single poll for the last month (except these types) has shown almost every Republican is very enthusiastic about voting and, most importantly, large (very large) numbers of independents are all lining up behind the GOP.

So one-third of the electorate that's Republican is voting Republican. Two-thirds or more of independents (who make up another third of the electorate) are also voting Republican. By any math (except Joe Biden's), that adds up to a convincing majority of anti-Democratic votes.

So how in tarnation can pollsters be finding majorities or pluralities (in their polls) who say they're voting Democrat? Why? Because their polls are lying, which is a nice way to remind you to tune in to Church Militant's election preview coverage tonight at 7 p.m. And then, in what should be the shellacking of the communists, our Election Night coverage starts at 6 p.m. ET tomorrow night, right here on Church Militant.

        TRANSCRIPT

Earlier this week, the bishops of Arizona (including former bishop of Phoenix Thomas Olmsted, considered a "good" bishop) issued a statement taking a very thinly veiled swipe at faithful Catholics trying to fight the evil of phony Catholic politicians.

The statement, which used the pretext of faithful Catholics violating canon law, was conveniently issued just days after a Phoenix rally was held, sponsored by the group called "Catholics for Catholics." The group is taking dead aim at the scandal and sin of phony Catholics being permitted by the bishops to continue parading themselves around as somehow faithful.

The bishops need to prepare to burn in Hell for these sacrileges and offenses against the Faith and the truth. They attack faithful Catholics left, right and center. And yes, that includes even the so-called good bishops.

The bishops need to prepare to burn in Hell for these sacrileges.

Arizona Catholics were shocked that Olmsted affixed his signature to this letter. The four bishops who signed it were Olmsted, Bp. Edward Weisenburger of Tucson, Bp. John Dolan of Phoenix and Wall, whose New Mexico diocese of Gallup bleeds over into Arizona.

What men like this don't get is this: The two things the faithful are sick to death of. First is this duplicity of child murderers being allowed to present themselves as Catholic by the bishops who do nothing about it. And the second point is the faithful are sick to death of being scolded and sidelined for trying to do what the bishops should have done decades ago.

So with that background, we'd like to play the interview we did with the group's spokesman, John Yep, and how thoroughly disgusted they are with the cowardice and hypocrisy of these men. We conducted the interview in our Daily Beat segment from Evening News earlier this week.

      • Moore Is Less

Please consider donating using the form below to further advance the mission.

        TRANSCRIPT

Church Militant (a 501(c)4 corporation) is responsible for the content of this commentary.

As the red Category 3 (at least!) hurricane threatens to come crashing ashore in Democratic land, one place that is deep blue is promising to hold out against the Republican swamping. That's Maryland, where the governor's race is between solid political conservative Dan Cox, a current Maryland state legislator, and wildly liberal Marxist Wes Moore.

And as far as fundamental rights and belief in God and the need for morality in the culture go, Moore is definitely less. In short, Moore is a stone-cold liar. But then again, pointing out someone's embrace of Marxism and being a liar is redundant. He's a cheat, a liar and a straight-up communist.

For example, media reports recently revealed he hasn't paid his water bill totaling $21,000 for his mansion. Like all good Marxists, he loves the idea of the global reset. He spent four years as chief executive officer of the Robin Hood Foundation, euphemistically referred to as "Robbin' the Hood Foundation" because of its devastating effects on minority communities.

         Moore is a stone-cold liar.

Cox and Moore couldn't be more different, representing a massively sharp contrast in world views. And interestingly, the results of a local Baltimore media poll following a head-to-head debate showed that among voters who see the difference, overwhelming support goes to Cox.

        [Transcript unavailable]

But let's go back to that Robbin' the Hood Foundation. It allows hedge fund managers to rake in millions in tax breaks that should go to communities on the lower end of the socioeconomic ladder.

And when it comes to transparency, you can kiss that goodbye as far as the Robbin' the Hood Foundation goes. According to various reports, the process of following the document trail is rather Byzantine when it comes to revealing that every dollar contributed produces a whopping $44 in tax avoidance.

But here's a new twist: Cox has the endorsement of President Trump and that has brought down the house on his head by the GOP Establishment.

To show just how dirty politics can be, Republican governors and leaders of the World Economic Forum, which has a big dog in this fight, actually introduced deep-pocket GOP donors — not to Dan Cox, but to Wes Moore. If that doesn't prove how terrified they are of the insurgent movement against globalism, nothing does.

But here's the gist: If Dan Cox pulls off this political-earthquake upset, it would be perhaps the biggest shock of the entire evening. Maryland is very deep blue, despite electing some Republican governors in the past. Those governors, like Larry Hogan, are little else than Democrats wearing a red tie.

Recent internal polling from the Cox campaign shows two-thirds of registered Democratic and unaffiliated voters in Maryland actually favor Cox over Moore. If Election Night turns out even close to that, Moore would go down in flames and Dan Cox would be sworn in as the next governor of deep-blue Maryland. If there was an environment in which that could happen, these 2022 midterms would be that environment.

Traditional polling outfits, as well as media polling in Maryland, have been massively left-leaning for decades — no shock there. But a question arises here: Why should Maryland be what is shaping up to be the sole exception to what looks like a national denuding of the Democratic Party, across the board, at all levels of government?

If there was a year a conservative Republican could plant his standard atop Mount Maryland, this would be the year.

Those left-leaning Terrapin polls have Moore out ahead by as much as 30 points. Recent party registration numbers in Maryland do show Democrats way ahead at 55–32. That said, that leaves 13% undecided, and the undecided vote almost always breaks toward the anti-establishment challenger.

Presuming almost all Republicans stick with Dan Cox and he garners 10% of the 13% of the undecideds, he's suddenly well within striking distance. At that point, all he would need would be to peel away roughly 10 points from the Democrats. None of this is an easy mountain to climb, but if there was a year a conservative Republican could plant his standard atop Mount Maryland, this would be the year.

We will be keeping a very close eye on this most-interesting Maryland race, as well as the entire election. Church Militant coverage will begin with a preview on Monday at 7 p.m. ET, live, as our political team dives into the details and gives you a preview of what's going to happen on Election Day; and then, our live election coverage on Tuesday starting at 6 p.m. ET, where the whole team here brings you the absolute latest.

Faithful Catholics as well as true political conservatives should be tuning into us, not the Marxist media that will lie and distort and delay. Church Militant, you will remember, was the first media outlet in the country to call the 2016 race for Donald Trump. No one has more integrity when it comes to political coverage, or any coverage, than Church Militant. Don't miss a minute of our coverage.

        TRANSCRIPT

The last couple of weeks, a rather loud and somewhat ongoing controversy has exploded onto the headlines again, involving claims that Jewish control of media is unfair or hurtful or too lopsided and so forth.

Kanye West was called out for anti-Semitism for saying the Jews control Hollywood and the media. Elon Musk, liberator of Twitter, even seemed to side with Kanye. He even posted a tweet asking "Who do you think owns the press?" back in May of 2018. It was quickly taken down. Even Donald Trump got in on the action, saying American Jews didn't appreciate his repeated efforts to support Israel.

Be that as it may, however true or not the accusations may be, there does appear to be collectivizing among a large percentage of the American Jewish population when it comes to politics.

After the conquering and subsequent destruction of Jerusalem in A.D. 70 by Titus and his Roman X legion, the nature of Judaism as a religion shifted. For centuries, the religion of the people of Israel centered around Temple sacrifice for the sins of the people as they awaited the coming of the Messiah.

There does appear to be collectivizing among a large percentage of the American Jewish population.

With Jerusalem in ruins, the Temple destroyed, and the people killed, brought into slavery or scattered, the identity of Judaism no longer centered around sacrifice and Temple worship. Their land was gone. The kingdom of Israel, such as it was under Rome, no longer existed. The Temple lay in ruins and the priestly class was wiped out.

What arose in its place and came to dominate Jewish religious life was Rabbinic Judaism, something altogether new. Over the intervening millennia, in different countries, the lived experience of the Jewish people began to splinter in the absence of a central focus of worship.

Here in America, the brand of Judaism that has become completely dominant is Reform Judaism. There are, of course, other theological varieties in the United States, such as Orthodox Judaism, Hasidic Judaism and Conservative Judaism. But by and large, the dominant force among American Jews is Reform Judaism, brought to America in 1846 by Rabbi Isaac Mayer Wise from Bohemia, and it tends to be extremely liberal socially, theologically and politically.

Normally speaking, when people make comments about "the Jews controlling the media," for example, it is Reform Jews (because of their very left-leaning politics) that are being spoken of. However, what we'd like to concentrate on in this Vortex is the theological aspect of modern Judaism, be it Orthodox, Conservative or Reform, and contrast it with Catholicism. We covered the topic pretty extensively in The One True Faith, specifically in episode 11 of season six.

What often gets overlooked or just plain forgotten is the intimate relationship between Judaism and Catholicism. Catholicism is the fulfillment of the covenant. It is the continuation of the People of God.

The Jewish leaders in the first days of the Church sought to destroy the followers of Christ as they crucified Our Lord. But remember, those first Christians, who were all Catholic, were also Jews. Saint Peter was a Jew, St. Paul, St. Andrew, St. Matthew, St. John, all of them — including and especially Our Blessed Mother.

Our Lord Himself was a Jew and was executed with the inscription over His head, "King of the Jews." But it was a jump, so to speak, for the Jews of the day to make the leap to the shift in thinking about the Messiah and the new Kingdom of David.

While, obviously, some Jews did accept the fullness of the divine plan as it now unfolded and presented itself — we hear about the conversion of the 3,000 at Pentecost when Peter (remember, a Jew) preaches to that assembled crowd of fellow Jews — still, most did not accept the fulfillment of the Old Covenant, especially the leaders.

Up to this point, being a member of the chosen race was based on genetics. This is the point the leaders are making when they go on about being sons of Abraham, as if that alone made one righteous. But Our Blessed Lord, Himself a son of Abraham, utterly repudiates that idea, repeatedly saying that the attainment of the Kingdom will not be based on one's DNA, but on love of Him.

He places Himself above the Law, which (since He is the Author and Giver of the Law) He can do. That did not sit well with the leaders who invoked the Law as their authority. During those first few decades of the Church, it was the leaders clinging to the Law (which had now been fulfilled by Christ) who persecuted the Church — until Rome wiped them out in A.D. 70.

But before the destruction of the Temple, there were the Judaizers — condemned left and right by St. Paul.

Saint Paul spent much of his time contending with various Jewish factions who sought to undermine him once he left town. Indeed, the question of circumcision became a focal point of controversy in those first few years until Peter ended the question, once and for all, declaring circumcision was not a requirement for conversion to the Faith.

Truth came first to the Jews, and then the gates were flung open to the whole world.

In some ways, current political controversies and charges of the Jews undermining Christian morality, which is based on Catholic teaching, find their origin in this millennia-old duel between Jews who accepted Our Lord as the Messiah and the Church as the continuation of the People of God, and those Jews who reject that.

In the midst of such strife, Catholics are duty bound to remember that just as Our Lord did not look to someone's DNA as a ticket to salvation or damnation, neither can we.

Jewish Americans today, especially Reform Jews, bear almost no resemblance whatsoever to the Jews of Our Lord's day. They even reject the Torah as having any special significance over and above any other Jewish writings down through the centuries.

A person's race or ethnicity is not what matters, for no individual has the slightest control over that. But what does matter is a person's willingness to embrace truth and come to love it and order his life around it.

That said, however, we can never forget that truth is not just some intellectual concept floating around in the ether like mathematical principles. Truth, in the end, is a Person — the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity.

Truth came first to the Jews — to the lost sheep of the house of Israel — and then the gates were flung open to the whole world. This is the divine plan as it has unfolded since the beginning of creation.

As St. Paul says, now there is neither Jew nor Gentile.

You may not have heard, but the U.S. bishops are all hot to trot on their so-called Eucharistic Revival.

See, faith in the Real Presence is at pathetic lows among unfaithful Catholics here in America, and all the uproar among faithful Catholics at the bishops disobeying canon law spurred them to action. Well, sort of spurred them to action. What faithful Catholics were demanding was an end to political murderers like Joe Biden (and company) being allowed to receive Holy Communion.

So the most unmasculine response possible from the charitable, homosexual crowd in miters was what else? Launch a three-year, $28 million public relations campaign to proclaim the Church's teaching around the country in the dwindling number of parishes but — and this is the really important part, the key ingredient — actually do nothing to demonstrate the belief it is promoting.

The bishops as a body do not believe in the Real Presence.

In fact, let's keep those faith numbers low, as low as we can, by not actually doing anything to promote the teaching — you know, as in showing people we mean business. Kind of like, oh, I don't know, forbidding reception by big-name child-killing Catholics. That might be a good place to start, but, oh no. That would be a bridge too far for the all-are-welcome, let's-be-gay-together crowd at USCCB headquarters (might as well be a hippie drum circle)!

And if you think that's a little harsh, consider the following: In West Virginia, the town of Bridgeport, actually, and All Saints Parish, specifically, we have an up-close look at the bishops' Eucharistic Revival. The parish is combining the Eucharistic Revival events with its 75th-anniversary festivities.

So in celebration of both, the pastor, Fr. Jagela, invited Bp. John Stowe of Lexington, Kentucky, along with his diocesan coordinator (of all things gay) to talk about welcoming everyone. Seriously though, who else would you invite to talk about the need for belief in and worthy reception of the Body and Blood of Our Lord, other than a bishop who promotes sex between men? I mean, come on, man!

And remember, Stowe is a bishop — one of those who are promoting the Eucharistic Revival like, supposedly, all his brother bishops. Let's get real about this, shall we? The bishops as a body do not believe in the Real Presence. There is simply too much of a disconnect between their actions and their words. You could in no way believe the Host is actually Jesus but then refuse to defend His Real Presence from sacrilege. No way, José — not possible.

And they get away with their unbelief because Catholics don't believe. Most Catholics don't even care. This whole meltdown is kind of a vicious cycle. The bishops lost the Faith. They ordained men to the priesthood who don't believe in the Faith. Those priests destroyed the Faith among the laity. The laity then sent fewer men who believe to seminary — who then got ordained, were made bishops, embraced gay crap and the wheel goes around and around.

They get away with their unbelief because Catholics don't believe.

So exactly who really thinks this Eucharistic Revival will accomplish anything? A gay bishop goes to a gay parish to promote its 75th anniversary (the last few decades of those 75 years being spent in gay heresy and apostasy) and along the way promotes the truth of the Real Presence. Seriously? This is absolutely nuts. This isn't Catholic, not even close — no how, no way.

Look, the bishops don't believe. We've been saying this here at Church Militant for more than a dozen years, once we figured it out. Look, we don't like this. We certainly don't like saying it. But the truth needs to be spoken. People don't believe in the Real Presence because the leaders don't believe in the Real Presence. It's that simple.

Might some tiny modicum of good arise from the giant three-year, $28-million dog and pony show culminating in Indianapolis in a couple of years? That's not the point. As long as the bishops refuse to embrace the truth of the Faith and do everything required of them, don't expect any of this to turn around. How can it?

One of the most interesting things about political seasons is all the polling. And quite frequently the questions are not just, Who are you going to vote for?

A recent poll surveyed Catholics in the battleground states of Florida, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Arizona and Nevada, and asked questions about the Faith (in addition to political questions) — four such questions, actually — that we'd like to highlight for you, state by state. Remember, this is just Catholics answering.

On the question of abortion, an option was given: "Abortion should never be permitted under any circumstances." In Florida, only 10% of Catholics agreed with that statement. In Georgia, it was 6%; Pennsylvania, 7%; Ohio, 7%; Arizona, 5%; and Nevada, 7%.

But here is the funny twist to those responses. Another question asked, "[Do I] accept all the Church's teachings and that is reflected in how I live my life?" Look at those who responded "yes" and notice the absolute disconnect from the abortion question: In Florida, it's 14%; Georgia, 12%; Pennsylvania, 12%; Ohio, 11%, Arizona, 13%; and Nevada, 15%.

So across those six battleground states, an average of 13% of Catholics say they accept all of the Church's teachings. Yet on average, across the same battleground states, only 7% say they believe abortion should never be permitted.

Apparently, those who accept all the Church's teachings haven't heard the one on abortion.

Only half the Catholics claiming they believe everything the Church teaches accept everything the Church teaches, certainly in the matter of abortion, which, of course, strongly suggests they may very well reject other Church teachings while claiming to accept all the teachings. Talk about a disconnect. Apparently, those who accept all the Church's teachings have never heard the one on abortion.

Here's another one, this one from those who say they believe in the Real Presence of Our Lord in the Eucharist. First, the numbers for those Catholics who claim to believe the teaching: In Florida, 52% say they believe; in Georgia, 58%; Pennsylvania, 52%;  Ohio, 52%; Arizona, 52%; and in Nevada, it's 55%. So in all six battleground states, a majority of Catholics say they believe in the Real Presence.

Well, let's look at the response to the question of how frequently Catholics go to Mass at least once a week in those same states: in Florida, 34%; Georgia, 49%;  Pennsylvania, 36%; Ohio, 37%;  Arizona, 35%; and in Nevada, 32%.

So doing the averages again across all the battleground states, 53% say they believe in the Real Presence, but among those same Catholics, only 37% go to Mass each Sunday — again, disconnected and unplugged from their Faith.

It's extremely clear from these kinds of surveys that Catholics, even many who say they believe, don't really know what it is they believe. But tellingly, across the political spectrum, they are spot on. In general broad terms, two-thirds of Catholics in the battleground states say they reject Biden, believe the economy and inflation is the most pressing issue and are backing the Republican candidates across the board. In that regard, they may be a bit ahead of the rest of voters — but not that far ahead of them.

You'd have to search high and low through Church history to find a greater meltdown of the Faith.

It's astounding that so many Catholics can be so in step with things of the temporal order and, when it comes to things of the spiritual order, be so completely out of step with the Church's teachings while thinking they are still good Catholics. That, too, was a question in the survey — about believing only some or most of the teachings yet still considering themselves good Catholics: In Florida, it's 63%; in Georgia, 68%; in Pennsylvania, 67%; Ohio, 69%; Arizona, 68%; and Nevada, 66%. So two-thirds of Catholics believe themselves to be good Catholics while rejecting various Church teachings.

You'd have to search high and low through the annals of Church history to find a greater, more epic meltdown of the Faith. No matter how you cut it, measure it, examine it, slice it, analyze it — this is an unmitigated disaster.

Even Catholics who think they are Catholic have no real idea what being Catholic really is. We've known for decades that's been true of the clergy, especially the bishops, but that has now become the standard among the laity as well.

What this means is that the few Catholics who actually are Catholics have a much greater responsibility to instruct those other Catholics. Remember, to whom much is given, much will be demanded.

We told you at the beginning of this episode that we learn all kinds of things during election seasons because of all these polls. We're willing to bet there's some stuff here you weren't expecting to come out of a political poll.
