Today's Vortex is the opening segment of the May 6, 2022 episode of Evening News, which celebrates our 16-year anniversary.
TRANSCRIPT
We here at Church Militant have been saying it for years and years — politics is downstream from culture. And, unless the culture starts producing men of virtue and nobility, the culture is dead — which means politics becomes a haunt for the diabolical, a means by which demons can do mop-up duty with the few remaining citizens who are good.
But there is a growing awareness of the reality of all this, especially among faithful Catholics who understand that, as a nation, we may be approaching the final battle for our existence and they need to step up. As you know, Church Militant has interviewed a good number of these folks from around the nation — as well as others who are not Catholic, but are men of goodwill who do understand the crisis we are in and just need some formation.
But there is little else more formidable than a solid Catholic who commits himself to the fight for souls, especially in the rough and tumble of politics. One such man in the fight is John Gibbs, a convert to Catholicism who enjoys the endorsement of President Trump in his campaign to become the U.S. representative for Michigan's 3rd congressional district, which encompasses the Grand Rapids area on the state's west side.
Gibbs is running against Peter Meijer, a RINO Republican who was one of the 10 House Republicans (like Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger) who voted to impeach Trump in January of 2021 — thus betraying the rank and file. Meijer got into office on Trump's coattails in 2020, even though the election was stolen from Trump himself.
All across the country — powered by the America first movement — Republicans swept into office. But some, like Meijer, quickly revealed their true colors and lack of fortitude, turning traitor and ignoring the peasantry. Meijer comes from the billionaire family that owns the Meijer supermarket chain in the Midwest, with more than 200 stores and $20 billion in sales.
He is the son of one of the co-CEOs, Hank, who, while he retired in 2017, is still on the board — along with his brother. Forbes Magazine has the brothers (Peter's dad and uncle) rated as the 95th most wealthy people in the world, with their accumulated wealth of $17 billion.
So Peter Meijer isn't exactly the poster boy for a "man of the people," which would explain why he is so out of touch with the rank and file of his own party. A little more mingling with the unwashed masses and a couple less hours at the country club might have served him well. What motivates Meijer is unknown, but it sure doesn't seem to be much other than staying in good with the anti-Trump establishment at GOP headquarters.
As of this Vortex, every Republican running for office who has received Trump's endorsement has won his or her primary. The old GOP is passing away — may, in fact, already be dead. This is Trump's party now, and the establishment is having apoplexy over that. They will, in fact, commit political suicide to prevent the rank and file from becoming the leaders.
Gibbs went to Stanford for his undergraduate degree and earned his post-graduate degree from Harvard. He worked in the Trump administration as assistant secretary to Ben Carson at the Department of Housing and Urban Development, where he earned high praise from Carson. And, most of all, he is the very type of man that the GOP establishment is terrified of.
Gibbs is motivated by his love of God, which animates his entire worldview. The GOP establishment is motivated by its love of itself. Gibbs converted to Catholicism last year and regularly attends Latin Mass at a diocesan parish in Grand Rapids. It's from his faith that his worldview, including politics, flows.
While the GOP establishment has made much money and hay wrapping itself in the American flag and holding up a cross, it hasn't translated into very much in terms of action. Gibbs means to put an end to that and believes the silent majority of rank-and-file Republicans see things the same way. Gibbs, as we said earlier, is among a growing number of Republican candidates who are spelling the end of the way business used to be done in the Grand Old Party.
His narrative, his story, is not unlike many other stories of candidates arising from the ashes of a decaying culture, intent on resurrecting good and morality and virtue. So far, with his endorsements, Trump's record has been perfect, and many here in Michigan have their eyes fixed on this race — a sitting RINO vs. a Trump-endorsed new breed of Republican.

They've never wanted to actually say that out loud over the past half century. In fact, they've declared the exact opposite, falsely claiming that the more contraception is available, the fewer abortions there will be. That seems logical on a superficial level but once you dig down one layer, the lie is exposed.
Widespread use of contraception creates a mindset that sex is solely for pleasure, and, when that mindset seizes hold, then the floodgates open. People come to view sex from a self-centered point of view. In short, it's all about my orgasm, consequences be damned. If and when the consequence is a baby, then the response from a selfish person is to just kill the child, and, frankly, for such a person, why wouldn't that be their conclusion? Makes perfect sense within the world of self-centeredness.
That world is created by the contraceptive mentality that says, "Sex is all about me, my orgasm, my pleasure." The late Fr. John Hardon once said:
The reason we have such massive slaughter of innocents is because we have become a fornicating society, an adulterous society, a homosexual society and a contraceptive society. Unchaste people are selfish people. They will not stop at murder if an unborn child would be a burden to their indulgence and sexual pleasure.
The idea of having consequences and responsibilities attached to pleasure is anathema to the contraceptive crowd. But most so-called conservatives are part of the contraceptive crowd. Steven Crowder said that "there's an easier and cheaper way to not have kids instead of murdering babies — condoms." But he couldn't be more wrong.
This contraceptive mentality is why we see and have so much proliferation of sexual immorality — be it cohabitation, fornication, pornography, adultery and so forth. This is the whole evil logic underlying gay sex and the twisted legal logic for gay marriage — also brought to us courtesy of the U.S. Supreme Court, seven years ago.
All of this current crisis of sexual immorality and its devastating consequences can be traced back to the acceptance of contraception during the sexual revolution and its enshrinement by the high court in its 1965 Griswold v. Connecticut ruling.
In that case, in a 7–2 vote, the court struck down anti-contraception laws across the country and created the so-called "right to privacy," the same right which would then go on to be used in Roe eight years later. The sexual passions were thus unbridled and set loose, given legal protection and promotion. Like demons swarming out of Pandora's box, there would be no controlling them.
Interestingly, however, the Left admits this connection readily now. During the Amy Coney Barrett nomination hearings, she was pressed by Democrat senators on her view of Griswold. All over social media, in the wake of the leak of the draft from the Supreme Court, Marxists are up in arms, declaring, "If Roe falls, your constitutional right to birth control will also be in jeopardy."
But the Marxists aren't just worried about their contraception — they're worried also about their gay sex as well, legalized by Obergefell in 2015. Wishful thinking there, sadly. No, that won't happen, because social and political conservatives embrace the contraceptive mentality — they just don't like the one consequence of it, child killing.
But, as far as most of the self-identifying conservatives are concerned, all the rest of it is fair game. Pornography, masturbation, hookup culture, divorce and remarriage, gay marriage, cohabitation — everything is on the table. But if you get pregnant, just please don't kill the baby, but everything else is fine.
That is the heart of the contraception mentality, and it's the compromise with the Devil that the so-called Right has made. And here comes the zinger. The reason why so many social conservatives have hopped in bed with the Devil is because they want to have consequence-free sex themselves. In other words, they support contraception.
But when you support the underlying cause of abortion, you can't turn around and then condemn abortion itself. The culture has become thoroughly corrupted by this compromise with evil by the Right.
It was the so-called Right that first accepted and embraced contraception most, especially Protestants (beginning with the Anglicans in 1930 at their Lambeth Conference in London). Within 30 years or so here in America, Catholic bishops, now beginning to drown in homosexuality within their own ranks, simply shut up in the face of the contraceptive juggernaut. They have remained that way ever since, even down to today.
So what have we learned from the Supreme Court leak? We learned that the Left understands the connection between abortion and contraception and gay marriage and so forth. The Right, on the other hand, as usual, is fine with compromise.

The rogues in Catholic leadership are really getting their knickers in a bunch these days, specifically over Church Militant.
Back in March, immediately after Pope Francis' consecration of Russia, a bunch of the rogues met at what was, in essence, a secret, invitation-only meeting in Chicago — home to sodomy-loving Cdl. Blase Cupich.
Among the attendees was Cupich (of course); vice-pope Cdl. Óscar Andrés Rodríguez Maradiaga of Tegucigalpa, Honduras; Newark's Joseph Tobin (of "nighty night, baby" fame — as well as having an Italian homosexual underwear model live in his rectory, pretending he was taking English classes at Seton Hall University); Cdl. Seán O'Malley of Boston; Abp. Mitchell Rozanski of St. Louis (named in a current lawsuit for gay sex-abuse cover-up); and even Christophe Pierre, the papal nuncio to the United States.
Church Militant already reported on them all being together in Holy Name Cathedral, pretending to care about the Faith, on the Friday of the consecration. And then, a short while later, Religion News Service actually published an article on the gathering.
One of the organizers of the event was Michael Sean Winters of National Catholic Reporter infamy, who announced to the assembled rogues' gallery of the enemies of the Church (quoting the article now):
Even so, the conference singled out voices who, though popular among some conservative Catholics, have come to represent opposition to Francis in the United States. Winters argued there is "no value in having a dialogue with Michael Voris, for instance, referring to the head of Church Militant, a conservative Catholic media outlet long condemned by critics."
That's funny — the "let's dialogue until we vomit in our own mouths" crowd all of a sudden start denouncing dialogue. Translation: We don't want to talk with anyone who disagrees with us or anyone who knows how truly wicked and subversive we are and can expose us.
National Catholic Reporter, nicknamed "The Distorter" for its deliberate mangling of Church teaching, was ordered more than 50 years ago to drop the word "Catholic" from its title, by its local bishop. They flipped him off and went on subverting the Church.
Almost 10 years ago, then-bishop Robert Finn of Kansas City, where NCR is located, published this about the renegade outfit:
My predecessor bishops have taken different approaches to the challenge. Bishop Charles Helmsing, in October of 1968, issued a condemnation of the National Catholic Reporter and asked the publishers to remove the name "Catholic" from their title — to no avail. From my perspective, NCR's positions against authentic Church teaching and leadership have not changed trajectory in the intervening decades.
Notice that specific language — "NCR's positions against authentic Church teaching." Nothing has changed with these dirtbags in half a century, and nothing ever will. They are open enemies of Christ and His Holy Church, and the same goes for the members of the hierarchy who support them.
And yet, many people decry what the article called Church Militant's "incendiary rhetoric." For the record, it won't be anywhere near as incendiary as the fires of Hell, which they will all find themselves in if they don't repent. They, including these bishops, all oppose Church teaching. They say the Church is "wrong," that its teachings need to be reversed and sodomy and contraception (and a host of other sexual immoralities) need to be embraced by the Church.
I hope you don't, but if you insist, then go to Hell, all of you — posthaste before you inflict even more evil on unsuspecting sheep. These men do not accept, they deny, the Deposit of Faith; and yet, somehow, are treated as legitimate Catholics.
Would Planned Parenthood allow a group of "dialogue-minded pro-lifers" within their ranks, to portray themselves as pro-choice? Would the Democratic Party permit the existence of a pro-Trump contingent or an anti-Obama faction?
They would be decried and ejected immediately — if it were even ever possible for such groups to emerge in the first place. And no secular media outfit would give them the time of day because they would not be legitimate. Yet, somehow, the enemies of Christ within the Church are allowed to be treated by media and others as having a "legitimate" voice.
These types are on the record as opposed to Church teaching. How are they ever able to be legitimate? That's like treating the United Negro College Fund as a bona fide wing of the Ku Klux Klan, or the National Socialist faction of the Anti-Defamation League as somehow authentic.
Men like Cupich and Tobin and Maradiaga and Rozanksi and McElroy (and so forth) do legitimately hold office, no question. But, then again, so did Judas. These twisted spiritual perverts and destroyers are connivers, combining with their fellow non-ordained connivers and perverts to destroy souls, to so disfigure the Church and get it to bless their evil so as to alleviate their own guilty consciences.
They certainly will not be the first in the 2,000 years of the Church, and likely will not be the last. But all that means is, to quote the psalms, "They shall go to be with their fathers, who never see the light anymore."

With news that Elon Musk has finalized his purchase of Twitter, the cancellation train has screeched to a halt, at least for now. In fact, it's safe to say there is a cold wind blowing over Left land these days. Yet even before the Musk/Twitter deal, the America-first crowd was already gearing up — sidestepping the cancel crazies, doing an end run around them.
Andrew Torba, who founded the social media website Gab back in 2016 and has been a frequent guest on Church Militant had the foresight to see the trainwreck long before it derailed, and built up his platform as a haven for those being silenced by the Marxists. Indeed, here at Church Militant, we did the exact same thing right about the exact same time as Gab, realizing that the Left is all about censoring the truth.
So we have developed our own server network, our own website and our very-own processors and are all but free of the overreach of the tech giants. All of this is being dubbed "the alternate economy," referring to political and theological conservatives tearing away from control by the Left, setting up their own ways of doing business.
It is, of course, a tedious and cumbersome process — but seeing as how "team evil" has no plans of going away, it remains the most viable alternative. It's a balkanization and it's only increasing as more and more conservatives realize they have ceded way too much control to the Left in their day-to-day lives.
The reality of the situation is now becoming apparent for socially conservative America-first lawmakers as well — led by Georgia congresswoman and firebrand Marjorie Taylor Greene, who is among the first to set up her own media platform.
Setting up her own platform is a response to many indignities she has had to suffer as she sticks up for her beliefs in the face of tyrants like Nancy Pelosi. And, to that point, imagine having to get up and go to work each day and deal with the Wicked Witch of the West and the rest of her coven.
Even in the face of what has become expected on the part of Marxists, conservatives still experience moments of what we can call "clarity" when dealing with them up close and personal. MTG says she's willing to endure the constant harassment and berating by the Left, because of what she sees happening to middle America and the American way of life — even down to something as seemingly insignificant as blue jeans.
Tomorrow, as we wrap our interview with MTG, we'll explore her first big encounter with Capitol Hill Marxists, Covid and what she's doing about it — something the U.S. bishops have not demonstrated an ounce of care about.

The one single issue around which all politics and everything associated with politics revolves is abortion — hands down, no discussion. The rupture in nature, the nation, life and truth brought about by the diabolical 1973 U.S. Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade ruling has reached into every aspect of American life.
Nothing happens in Washington, D.C., nothing happens in the media, which is not controlled by that issue. It dominates every aspect of life — which it should, since it is life itself we are dealing with. All of the vitriol, for example, spewed against America first patriots, at the root of it all is abortion.
Marjorie Taylor Greene, one of the few shining lights on Capitol Hill, was blasted by the Democrats and their media allies for coming to the defense of innocent children during a shouting match on the steps of the U.S. Capitol with members of the Squad.
In a clarion call to the mindset of U.S, bishops (who are always prattling on about unity and not causing division), MTG just let loose against calls for fake unity in politics. One of the storms MTG has had to endure is the attacks of the social media giants. But with Musk now having bought Twitter (and caused weeping and lamentations in the streets of Marxville) MTG has some plans of her own.
We'll talk about the cancel culture and MTG's plans to combat it in tomorrow's Vortex — and what truth means in this era of so many lies. If you want to watch our Church Militant interview with MTG in its entirety, please click on the provided link.

There are now less than 200 days until the midterm elections, which many are seeing as payback for the stolen 2020 election. There is no doubt that a Great Pushback is going on in all areas of the country, from the Elon Musk Twitter deal, to the almost immediate canceling of CNN+, to Catholic Florida governor Ron DeSantis canceling Disney — all the momentum is on the side of the anti-left.
It's for this reason that everyone is expecting a complete wipeout of the Democrats in November, and not a single analyst or expert is predicting anything less. The only question is the margin of victory. But just below the surface of the anti-left forces is a growing rebellion against the GOP establishment — Kevin McCarthy, Mitch McConnell, Ronna McDaniel and so forth.
They are all viewed as complicit in the destruction the Marxist Left has wrought across the country. In fact, based on past history, it looks very much like all the so-called conservative establishment is interested in is being the opposition party, constantly tweeting, hopping on Fox News and whining about the Democrats and, of course, raising money — hundreds of millions.
But when they actually have power, they do very little with it. It's much more lucrative to be on the outs and complaining. All you have to remember is the Obamacare fiasco, when the GOP swept into power on Capitol Hill on Donald Trump's coattails and then let it stand. Rank and file are sick of the political and financial posturing, and, as a result, many of the peasants are actually running for office this cycle — first timers who go by the philosophy "if you want something done right, do it yourself."
And notable among them are not a small number of Catholics — and not the phony Catholics the U.S. bishops love and embrace, but ones who seem generally grounded in their faith or at least grounded to the extent they feel some obligation to get elected and roll back the tide of evil. Last week, Church Militant had the chance to catch up with highly controversial congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene and ask her about what could be called "the new breed."
Noteworthy among the Catholics running for Congress are:
Noteworthy among the Catholics running for U.S. Senate are:
Likewise, those running for governor of their respective states (all of whom have been interviewed by Church Militant):
This isn't to say each of these contenders is a theologian or has Church teaching down 100% or that they somehow managed to avoid the poisoning by the Church of Nice. But it is to say that, on a natural level, they are influenced at least partially by convictions and beliefs molded by authentic Catholicism. They get that things are way off and are responding as best they know how — each in his or her own way.
The same is true of Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who looks around the culture and is blown away by the loss of what Catholic teaching calls "virtue." MTG is universally despised by the Marxist Left for her straight shooting and belief in Christ. So much do they hate her that they are using trumped-up accusations about Jan. 6 as they try and prevent her from even running — attempting to block her from getting on the ballot.
She actually had to go to court last week to testify on her own behalf in response to them. In her mind, it's pretty clear what's going on. The full interview — well worth the watch — is available by clicking on the provided link.
In tomorrow's Vortex, we'll have more thoughts from MTG and the pre-eminent civil rights issue of our day. MTG needs to hold a tutorial session for the U.S. Bishops and their staffs, who need to experience some pushback in their world.
