Today we begin our study after King Benjamin's monumental sermon and reflect on Ammon's search to find the group that went to discover the land of Nephi in Mosiah 7. We reflect on the power of the Lord's deliverance and how we can apply the principles of this account into our lives. 

Daniel C Peterson: The society in which the Nephite kings ruled was a temple-centered one. The king made important announcements at the temple (Mosiah 1:18; 2:5-6) both in the society at Zarahemla and in Zeniff's derivative society in the land of Nephi (Mosiah 7:17). When Jesus Christ appeared to the Nephites, he came to them at the temple in the land of Bountiful (3 Nephi 11:1-10). Even king Noah lavished money upon his temple in which his chosen priests served (Mosiah 11:10-11)

Join us today as we conclude studying the Bicentennial Restoration on the Restoration of the Fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We consider the vital role of continuous revelation in these last days and were we also reflect on the preparation we are being given for the Second Coming of Christ. 

Elder David A Bednar: The spirit of revelation is available to every person who receives by proper priesthood authority the saving ordinances of baptism by immersion for the remission of sins and the laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost—and who is acting in faith to fulfill the priesthood injunction to “receive the Holy Ghost.” This blessing is not restricted to the presiding authorities of the Church; rather, it belongs to and should be operative in the life of every man, woman, and child who reaches the age of accountability and enters into sacred covenants. Sincere desire and worthiness invite the spirit of revelation into our lives.

Elder Richard G Scott: Only the life, teachings, and particularly the atonement of Jesus Christ can release us from this otherwise impossible predicament. Each of us has made mistakes, large or small, which if unresolved will keep us from the presence of God. For this reason, the atonement of Jesus Christ is the single most significant event that ever has or ever will occur. This selfless act of infinite consequence, performed by a single glorified personage, has eternal impact in the life of every son and daughter of our Father in Heaven—without exception. It shatters the bonds of death. It justifies our finally being judged by the Master. It can prevent an eternity under the control of the devil. It opens the gates to exaltation and eternal life for all who qualify for forgiveness through repentance and obedience.

Today we consider the vital role of covenants in our worship and reflect on the Saviour's role as a type of Father in our spiritual progression. 

Elder David A Bednar: Scriptures help us understand that the process of taking upon ourselves the name of Jesus Christ that is commenced in the waters of baptism is continued and enlarged in the house of the Lord. As we stand in the waters of baptism, we look to the temple. As we partake of the sacrament, we look to the temple. We pledge to always remember the Savior and to keep His commandments as preparation to participate in the sacred ordinances of the temple and receive the highest blessings available through the name and by the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ. Thus, in the ordinances of the holy temple we more completely and fully take upon us the name of Jesus Christ.

Join us as we begin our study of Mosiah 5. We consider the process of receiving a mighty change of heart and were reflect on a powerful story that relates to this, shared in the April 2020 General Conference. 

Elder David A Bednar: As we press forward submissively with faith in the Savior, then because of His Atonement and by the power of the Holy Ghost, 'a mighty change [takes place] in us, or in our hearts, that we have no more disposition to do evil, but to do good continually.'' We are 'born again; yea, born of God, changed from [our] carnal and fallen state, to a state of righteousness, being redeemed of God.' 'Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.'

Such a comprehensive change in our nature typically does not occur quickly or all at once. Like the Savior, we also receive 'not of the fulness at the first, but [receive] grace for grace.' 'For behold, thus saith the Lord God: I will give unto the children of men line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little; and blessed are those who hearken unto my precepts, and lend an ear unto my counsel, for they shall learn wisdom.

Today we conclude our study of Mosiah 4 and try to cover as much about these fantastic verses as we can. We consider what is the substance that we can impart of and we reflect on the wise word that King Benjamin finishes his sermon with. 

Andrea Allen: I knew then that she needed and still needs of the substance I can impart: my friendship and my testimony. I decided then that I would not give up on my friend. I talk to her every day, remember her in my prayers, and have faith that something positive will come from my efforts. I am so grateful that I prayed and received this guidance through the scriptures.

Today we continue our study of Mosiah 4 where King Benjamin begins speaking about how his people can retain a remission of their sins. We reflect on how this can be retained and the impact in our homes. 

Elder Jeffrey R Holland: The ordinance of the sacrament is a holy and repeated invitation to repent sincerely and to be renewed spiritually. The act of partaking of the sacrament, in and of itself, does not remit sins. But as we prepare conscientiously and participate in this holy ordinance with a broken heart and a contrite spirit, then the promise is that we may always have the Spirit of the Lord to be with us. And by the sanctifying power of the Holy Ghost as our constant companion, we can always retain a remission of our sins.

Join us as we begin our study of Mosiah 4-6. We begin in Mosiah 4 where the people of King Benjamin begin to receive a remission of their sins. King Benjamin, recognises the potential of this being a hinge point for his people, begins to urge them to retain this remission and explains how they can do that. 

Elder Neal A Maxwell: When spiritually aligned, a poise can come, even when we do not know 'the meaning of all things.' Such contented assurance produces not arrogance but quiet acceptance, which is its own form of being 'anxiously engaged' but without all the bells and whistles. However, this spiritual contentment rests on our accepting the Atonement of Jesus, because we 'have come to a knowledge of the goodness of God, and his matchless power, and his wisdom, and his patience, and his long-suffering towards the children of men; and also, the atonement which has been prepared from the foundation of the world.'

Today we pause from studying our Come Follow Me curriculum to dive deeper into the new Proclamation on the Restoration. We highlight the centrality of the Saviour in this glorious work and identify the numerous principles in this work. 

President Russell M Nelson: As we commemorate the event that was launched in 1820, it is important to remember that while we revere Joseph Smith as a prophet of God, this is not the church of Joseph Smith, nor is it the church of Mormon. This is the Church of Jesus Christ. He decreed exactly what His Church should be called: “For thus shall my church be called in the last days, even The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.”

I have spoken previously about a needed course correction in the way we refer to the name of the Church. Since that time, much has been done to accomplish this correction.

Joseph F Smith: Jesus Christ, whom we also know as Jehovah, was the executive of the Father, Elohim, in the work of creation. … Jesus Christ, being the Creator, is consistently called the Father of heaven and earth … ; and since His creations are of eternal quality He is very properly called the Eternal Father of heaven and earth.
