I’ve been told most of my life that I am incredibly upbeat, encouraging, positive, happy, and full of life. When they talk to me more in-depth and I tell them that it’s a true battle at times to be that way because some days I don’t even want to live, they’re in shock and disbelief. The truth is the more someone deeply loves, the more they deeply hurt, and that person often doesn’t know how to handle those deep emotions and so they either cave in and shut out or they explode and lash out when what he/she is experiencing gets overwhelming. If I had to label my calling in life, it’d be a hope dealer. Undoubtedly, I believe that those who’ve been through more crap are the most effective at convincing others that their crap doesn’t have to kill them. On my highest or lowest day, I’m persuaded that God loves me and thinks fondly of me... even when I argue with and try to talk Him out of it. The depression and anxiety I battle doesn’t scare Him away or intimidate Him. It’s up to me to renew my mind to the worth He sees in my life. Gamechanger.
