Not everyone receives the "gifting" of an Evangelist, only some (Eph. 4:11). But we are ALL called to share the good news of The Gospel to any and all who have an ear. We are also called to put that same Gospel on display in our lives. This is just a quick note on the importance of always being ready to testify in word AND deed...

Sensationalism...what is it?

• The use of sensational subject matter, usually intentionally controversial, exaggerated or attention-grabbing
• The use of strongly emotional subject matter, or wildly dramatic style, language or artistic expression, that is intended to shock, startle, thrill, excite, etc.

In this episode we discuss three more areas of sensationalism: Polarization of People Groups, Fear Culture, and Christian Nationalism. Listen as we really talk about some of "the tough stuff" coming against The Church and, while trying to keep it light, Heath has a strong message for a certain group of people.

2 Tim 2:16-18: “But avoid worldly and empty chatter, for it will lead to further ungodliness, and their talk will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus, men who have gone astray from the truth saying the resurrection has already taken place, and they upset the faith of some.”

Part of Satan’s scheme against The Church is to falsify and counterfeit Christianity to the masses...especially to those within The Church! He loves to take scripture and TWIST it.

As we continue our discussion about "Sensationalism" (the biggest fear we have for The Church) we unpack the "U" of the CPU, and talk about two other ways the Church can become easy prey to the wiles of culture.

Listen as Heath shares his epiphany of his faith, Andrea attempts to impersonate Larry King, and they both have some fun using Scripture to counter the efforts of non-biblical faiths.

There is a growing demand for pastors, preachers and teachers to focus on sensational messages like we are craving stimulation rather than motivation. Seeking our next “mountain top” experience, this is what feeds our so-called "Christianity" because it’s an event, an experience, a thrill...people want “entertainers” as pastors and “church” is a show and an experience.

We continue our series on sensationalism, taking a look at what Heath calls the "CPU of Sensationalism" (and no...it doesn't mean Central Processing Unit). Listen as we begin to dive into examples of what we feel is the greatest threat to The Church.

As we conclude our series on Spiritual Abuse, we continue our conversation where we ask the question: How do we heal from this?

Listen as Heath and Andrea discuss the temptation to isolate with a "blanky" and a cup of tea, the joy of participating in the "encouragement of others,"  and what they believe are the final two essential steps toward recovery and healing from Spiritual Abuse:

1. Find a healthy church
2. Start serving again in the church

As we approach the end of the series, we now come to the point in our conversation about Spiritual Abuse where we ask the question: How do we heal from this?

Listen as Heath and Andrea discuss why you should never slap someone for dissin' on the dish you cooked for the church potluck, and what they believe are the first two essential steps toward recovery and healing from Spiritual Abuse:

1. Recognize that Satan is behind it all
2. Get into the Scriptures
