Churchosity Podcast

In this episode we're trying to answer the question that centuries of Christians have wrestled with: "How do I figure out what God's will is for my life?" It's one thing to try and come up with an answer, but it's an entirely different challenge to apply that answer to practical, daily living as a follower of Jesus.

With lots of Scriptures to back up their views, laced with a little humor and some low-key preaching, listen as we try to make it easier to know how God wants us to live into our Christian faith.

"Your opinion is the only one that matters."
Have you ever heard this, or some version of it, or maybe even believe or say it yourself? Listen to a brief but in-your-face conversation about whether or not following your heart is a good thing.

Heath and Andrea go to the Scriptures to tackle the cultural norm that tells us we should have whatever we want, and everyone should agree with us, simply because we say so. Hear some frank but somewhat comical dialogue, where we discuss just some of the distinct differences between what the world says and what the Bible says, sprinkled with some Stranger Things references.

In this episode you will definitely experience a variation of emotions...pay close attention!

We are digging a little deeper in this "Faith Journey" conversation and talking about something that both Heath and Andrea are very passionate about: College Ministry. In this episode, listen to both of them share their desire for the young adults in the Church to be served and be thoroughly equipped to serve the body of believers.

From their own experiences, perspectives, and goals, Heath and Andrea will make all of us want to come alongside the high school graduates in our churches. Newsflash: they're adults now!

It's the second installment of personal faith journey stories! In this episode, Heath shares his testimony and invites you into his roller coaster ride with Jesus, and shows all of us how God can transform a broken man into an instrument for the Kingdom.

Listen as he shares his honest and revealing story in a way that reminds Christians that God is always drawing us to His Son. From his salvation and baptism at fourteen, wrestling with bitterness, and feelings of abandonment, Heath reveals how Jesus never left him hanging. And...shares how he wants the remainder of his life to go.

Warning: our "This Week's Proof" segment is a little PG-13 this week.

We're digging really deep in Part 3 of our conversation about systemic racism and white privilege. On this episode we take a long look at what we think is the biblical perspective on this conversation.

As we complete this series, we want everyone in the Church to begin weighing our opinions, perspectives, and worldviews against how God's Word tells us to live and serve one another. Listen as we drive home the point of doing nothing from selfishness, and many of you will be pleasantly surprised at both Heath and Andrea getting a little "preachy" along the way.

We're digging a little deeper in Part 2 of our conversation about systemic racism and white privilege. In this episode, we want everyone to take a hard look in the mirror at ourselves. We'll talk about how we think the Church could be leading the charge of cultural reform and confront a handful of areas where evangelical Christianity has contributed to the polarization on these issues.

Listen as Heath and Andrea discuss examples of systemic racism and white privilege, expose a few ways America has stacked the cards in favor of white people, and the risk of virtue signaling. Hold onto your seats, and get ready for us to dig even deeper and cut harder by looking at the biblical perspective on these things on the next episode.

This is a conversation that been a long time coming!

In this episode, we're bringing you the first part of a series about systemic racism and white privilege. This series will cover Heath's and Andrea's own wrestlings with systemic racism and white privilege, how The Church could be leading the charge to bring about cultural reform, and we'll end with answering some tough questions from the biblical standpoint.

Today, you'll hear Heath share stories about his heritage and his "Saul on the road to Damascus" moment. You'll also hear Andrea talk about the moment she saw her privilege for the first time. Listen as we begin to deep dive into the divide over culture war and Christianity, and get ready for Heath and Andrea to make us all take a hard look in the mirror in the next episode.

Have you ever wondered who the Kingdom of God belongs to? In this  episode, we'll discuss who Jesus says are the people fit for His Kingdom. Heath and Andrea talk about how we rebuke children from coming to Christ by the weighty things we add to their lives. WARNING...it's about to get very real.

With the help of the Bourne movie franchise, listen as we discuss how the innocence of a child's heart is the perfect  example of those who are worthy for Christ's Kingdom. Heath gets passionate, Andrea brings the heat, and you may want to have a box of tissues handy. This one is a doozy.

Why do we bicker over who is the better Christian? Why do we create extra "hoops" that must be jumped through in order to remain "saved?" Listen as we discuss the strife and division caused by re-applying The Law (or modern day versions of it) to the simplicity of The Gospel.

On the episode, Andrea and Heath talk about the church of Galatia and how they were so quick to return to "works-oriented" Christianity. From the movie "Stand By Me," to the mission field, to felling like the "lesser" Christian, hear the frustration over the church's creation of "red tape" Christianity.
