What does it really mean to worship God?

In this message, we begin a new series exploring how worship was never meant to be limited to Sunday mornings. Through Scripture and practical examples from everyday life, we look at how our marriages, parenting, careers, finances, health, and relationships can all become acts of worship when lived under the influence of God.

This week, we unpack two important Hebrew words—shachah and kavod—to better understand worship as surrender and glory as giving God the greatest weight in our lives. Worship is more than songs we sing. It is the posture of our hearts as we bring every part of our lives before the King.

We also spent time praying together, reflecting on Memorial Day weekend with gratitude for those who gave their lives in service to our country, and looking ahead to Baptism & Barbecue next Sunday at 10AM.

What does worship look like when life feels heavy, uncertain, or overwhelming?

This week at Cibolo Creek Community Church, we walked through the story of King Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 20 and explored what it means to worship in the middle of struggle. Through scripture, personal stories, and moments of worship together, we were reminded that worship is not about our emotions — it’s about God’s authority.

This service centered on learning to keep our eyes on God when we do not know what to do.

Continuing our conversation about worship, this week Jordan Sleed, our worship pastor, turned to Exodus 34 and the story of Moses coming down from Mount Sinai radiant after meeting with the Lord.

The message explores a simple but searching question: who are we becoming?

We are always being formed by what we trust, what we give our attention to, and where we go when we are most vulnerable. Through Moses’ story, we considered how worship is our yes to God, how we become like what we worship, and how the Holy Spirit forms us over time into people who reflect the radiance of Christ.

This service includes worship, prayer, teaching from Exodus 34, and communion as we remember Christ’s body broken for us and His blood poured out for the forgiveness of sin.
