Disney+ is finally going to be the home of all the Marvel shows previously hosted by Netflix, the streamer reports. From March 16, seven of the live-action Marvel shows hitherto not hosted by Disney+ will be available on the streamer in North America, the U.K., Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand for the first time, which the streamer says "made the most logical sense to best serve Marvel fans". We also dive into the news that HBO Max's Titans Season 4 Begins production and Disney Plus upcoming limited series The Santa Clause has found its director.

The Uncharted movie has not only won the weekend domestic box office again with $23.2 million in ticket sales, but it has also crossed $220 million globally. This week we take a look at the latest box office news. Uncharted remains strong, but is sure to be unseated by The Batman next weekend.

There has been a lot of controversy around Netflix and whether the streamer should or should not release its top-budgeted movies theatrically and if those movies should be considered for Oscar attention. To survive, Netflix must acknowledge that the theatrical experience is not going anywhere and they need to grab onto that experience in order to keep them afloat.

This week on Lets Talk, we dive into the life and legacy of David Fincher. 

In 1990, 20th Century Fox hired Fincher to replace Vincent Ward as the director for the science-fiction horror Alien 3 (1992), his film directorial debut. It was the third installment in the Alien franchise starring Sigourney Weaver. The film was released in May 1992 to a mixed reception from critics and was considered weaker than the preceding films. From the beginning, Alien 3 was hampered by studio intervention and several abandoned scripts.

Jackass Forever is a box office success. The new movie, which is the fourth installment of the Jackass movie series, will be wrapping up its box office haul for the weekend with $23.5 million pulled in domestically. This puts the comedy sequel solidly in the No. 1 spot so Johnny Knoxville and his fellow daredevils will have a lot to smile about, even if the filmmakers have been dealing with behind-the-scenes controversies. It pulled in another $5.2 million internationally for a total haul of $28.7 million.

There's a very strong chance that 2022 will see the global box office begin to recover even more substantially than in 2021. The process has been slow, as the pandemic has not abated in the way many had hoped. While the box office may be in for a relatively sizable recovery, we may never get back to pre-pandemic levels of moviegoing, and much of that has to do with the streaming takeover that has accelerated over the past couple of years.
