Back in the early 2000's, I'll admit it was odd seeing Adam Sandler in a dramatic like role. I mean this was the same guy who made a song about famous Jewish people, had to repeat elementary school, got into a fight with a game show host, and was even the son of Satan at one time too.
So when Paul Thomas Anderson hired Adam Sandler as the lead for his new movie, a lot of people including myself was surprised to see what would happen with this collaboration. Well I'm here to say that it was so joyous, a bit odd and dark at points but so very heart warming and endearing.
I'm so happy to bring on two new guests to talk about Punch - Drunk Love with me.

It's really difficult to explain what happens in this third feature from Paul Thomas Anderson. So I'm very glad I brought in guests Jeanette Mickenham and Erin & Kevin from The Podcast That Wouldn't Die to help me out with our discussion.
Magnolia has a great cast with Julianne Moore, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Melora Walters, Tom Cruise, John C. Riley and much much more. It's a drama that interweaves many characters all through out one rainy day in L.A.
Includes a Bonus Short Review of Licorice Pizza before the show
We are back bitches for a brand new season of Cinema Recall. Joining the show is Ashley Ullom Jirak who has been a friend of The Vern for like 20 years and it just feels right to have her on as a co-host going forward.
On today's show, we have brought back our good buddy Chris Revill of Let's Chat Media to just hang out and have some fun as we discuss what we liked about 2021.

With the release of Licorice Pizza coming to theaters. I wanted to look back at some of the films from writer, director Paul Thomas Anderson.
After his debut movie Sydney was destroyed by movie studios who changed the title to Hard Eight and cut footage without his knowledge. PTA vowed on his next feature that he would have complete creativity control. He got his wish with Boogie Nights. A sprawling ensemble drama about the people involved in the adult entertainment industry in the late 70's.
Joined by guests Ryan from Coolness Chronicles / Reels of Justice and Nikky from Dear Nikky. We discuss this iconic piece of American Cinema that introduce the world to the three letters. PTA.
I heard that when there's no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth. But On Cinema Recall, I say let the dead roam wherever it damn well wants to.
On this episode, I'm bringing with me Jim of Film Rage to discuss the masterpiece of horror that is George A Romero's Dawn of the Dead. Released in 1978 and focusing on a group of survivors who hold themselves up in a shopping mall. This movie is not only a great zombie movie, but a brilliant satire on consumerism as well.
Listen to Jim and The Vern talk about this movie and later perform a scene in an all new audio drama adaptation

It seems appropriate that the day after Thanksgiving (for Patreon Members) I would release an episode that's mascot is an animal. Groundhog Day although throughout this episode. I know I keep referring it as Groundhog's Day instead.
Anywho. I'm joined by guest and good friend, Bubbawheat of It's Time to Rewind Podcast/ Flights Tights and Movie Nights to talk about and later perform a scene from the great Bill Murray comedy, Groundhog Day. Damn, I'm pretty sure it was called Groundhog's Day.
