On Saturday March 27, 2021, we are releasing our first feature film Run. Actually it is a re-release as this film was shown in a few theaters back in 2019 but has gone through a major overhaul over the last year and will now be unleashed upon the world. Today, I will be talking about some of the aspects that went into the making of the film.

Documentary filmmaker Andrés A Parra joins the show today. Andrés is originally from Venezuela but has been in the Midwest for about 35 years and currently lives in the Minneapolis, Minnesota area. He offers great insight into the documentary world. He talks about his projects including one headed by Steven Spielberg and a very personal story for him called Terminally Optimistic which is about three women with stage 4 breast cancer which is a journey that his wife is also on.

He also talks about finding the story within the subject matter and the structure of his documentaries.

Today I talk with fellow filmmaker and fellow podcaster, Casey Kelderman, who co-hosts the podcast Back Lot 605. He is working hard to build up the South Dakota film scene with a great team of collaborators. We discuss not only Back Lot 605, but several other podcasts that he is involved with. We also talk about the tough question of how you balance multiple creative projects and the importance of finding your group.
