Cinerama Dome Re-opening? Special Cinemondo Report!  There may finally be light at the end of the tunnel for the iconic Cinerama Dome, which has been closed since the pandemic shuttered the ArcLight complex in 2020. Dome Center LLC has filed a new conditional-use permit application with the City of Los Angeles to renew on-site alcohol sales across the Dome, its adjoining 14-screen ArcLight multiplex, and the connected restaurant and outdoor terraces.

For many in L.A., though, this is the most concrete progress toward reopening the beloved 86-foot curved-screen dome since its closure — a hopeful sign that the storied venue may once again shine on Hollywood Boulevard.
