What looks like a setback may actually be setting the stage for something bigger.

Today we’re continuing Joseph’s story in Genesis 44:1–18, where his brothers are finally headed home when everything suddenly goes left.

A silver cup is found in Benjamin’s bag.

They’re brought back to Joseph.

And once again, they find themselves facing a situation they never saw coming.

But Sis, there’s more happening here.

Something is changing.

And sometimes the circumstances we’re asking God to remove are the very circumstances He’s using to transform us, position us, and accomplish something far beyond what we can see right now.

Some of the biggest blessings in your life may have started in places that made absolutely no sense at the time.

They’re nervous.

But instead?

They’re welcomed.

And all the while, something much bigger is unfolding behind the scenes.

Sis, sometimes we don’t recognize the setup until we’re looking backward.

That unexpected move.

Hey Sis 💛

Sometimes you reach a point where you can’t avoid the next step anymore.

Today we’re continuing Joseph’s story in Genesis 43:1–18, where Jacob and his sons are standing in front of the very situation they had hoped they could avoid.

The famine is still going.

The food is running out.

Benjamin has to go.

And fear is telling them everything that could go wrong.

But something shifts when Jacob finally reaches the end of what he can control.

He prays.

Sis, there are moments when surrender becomes the only way forward.

And while we may not know what’s waiting on the other side of that step, we can trust that God is already there.

So keep praying. Keep trusting. And don’t allow fear of the unknown to keep you from moving forward in faith.

Sometimes what feels like everything working against you is actually God working behind the scenes.

Today we’re continuing Joseph’s story in Genesis 42:25–38, and this time we’re looking at Jacob.

He’s already experienced deep loss.

So when it looks like he may lose something else, his response is understandable:

Hold tighter. Protect more. Don’t risk anything.

Sis, sometimes our desire for control isn’t really about control at all.

Sometimes it’s fear.

Fear of losing again.

But Jacob couldn’t see what we can see reading the story:

God was already making a way.

Maybe the invitation today is to loosen our grip just a little and trust the One who can see what we cannot.

Sometimes healing requires more than one heart to change.

Today we’re continuing Joseph’s story in Genesis 42, where he comes face to face with the very brothers who betrayed him, sold him into slavery, and changed the course of his life.

And yet, Joseph doesn’t immediately reveal who he is.

He waits.

His brothers begin confronting what they had done years earlier, and then something happens that I don’t want us to miss:

Joseph weeps.

Because while God was working on their hearts, He was still doing a work in Joseph’s heart too.

Sis, sometimes we can become so focused on what God needs to change in somebody else that we forget to ask what He may still be healing, refining, or releasing in us.

God can feel slow…right up until He moves fast.

Today we’re continuing Joseph’s story in Genesis 41:41–57, where after years of betrayal, slavery, false accusation, prison, and waiting, Joseph’s life changes almost overnight.

One moment, he’s in prison.

The next, Pharaoh puts him second in command over all of Egypt.

But Sis, what looked sudden had actually been years in the making.

God had been preparing Joseph, positioning Joseph, growing Joseph, and aligning every detail long before Joseph could see what any of it was producing.

And maybe that’s the reminder you need today:

The waiting doesn’t mean God isn’t working.

Your slow season may still be part of His preparation for what comes next.

So keep trusting. Keep remembering His faithfulness. And keep believing that when the time is right, God knows exactly how to move.

Before Joseph ever stepped into the promotion, he pointed back to God.

Today we’re continuing Joseph’s story in Genesis 41:1–40, where after years of waiting, Pharaoh finally calls Joseph out of prison to interpret a dream no one else can explain.

And when Joseph is given the opportunity to show what he can do, he says something powerful:

“I cannot do it…but God will give Pharaoh the answer.”

Sis, that’ll preach.

After betrayal.

Joseph still knew where the power came from.

And before he knew how dramatically his circumstances were about to change, he gave God the glory anyway.

So whether you’re still waiting, finally seeing movement, or somewhere in between, may the way you live keep pointing people back to the One working within you.

You do not have to wait for perfect circumstances to use what God has given you.

Today we’re continuing Joseph’s story in Genesis 40, where Joseph is still in prison, still waiting, and yet still available for God to use.

When two men come to him with dreams they don’t understand, Joseph doesn’t take the credit for himself.

He tells them:

“Interpreting dreams is God’s business.”

Sis, there’s something powerful about knowing that the gift may flow through you without ever belonging to you.

And sometimes faithfulness looks like serving right where you are, even when you’re still praying for God to change where you are.

You don’t have to control the outcome.

Be faithful with what He placed in your hands.

The power, the glory, and the results?

That’s God’s business.

Sometimes obedience still leaves you asking:

God…make it make sense.

Today we’re finishing Genesis 39, where Joseph does the right thing, refuses temptation, honors God…and still ends up falsely accused and thrown into prison.

Not exactly the outcome we’d expect from obedience, right?

But tucked inside this part of Joseph’s story is a reminder we cannot miss:

“The Lord was with Joseph.”

His location changed.

But God’s presence did not.

Sis, there may be things happening in your life right now that simply do not make sense from where you’re standing.

Maybe the question today isn’t only, “God, why?”

Maybe it’s also:

“God, help me recognize where You are with me in the middle of this.”

The middle of temptation is not always the best time to decide what you believe.

Today we’re continuing Joseph’s story in Genesis 39:1–18, where we see him prospering in Potiphar’s house, gaining trust, and then facing a temptation that keeps coming back day after day.

But Joseph already knew where he stood.

And when the pressure became too much?

He ran.

Sis, temptation may look different for each of us, but preparation matters.

Prayer.

So instead of only asking, “What tempts me?” maybe there’s another question we need to answer:

What’s my evacuation plan when it does?
