What must you do in order to be saved?
For first-century Christians, as with Christians now, the answer is the same: trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, his death on the cross and his resurrection.
But first-century Christians also had to contend with Jewish Christians saying that in order to be saved, you must first be circumcised and follow the law.
This year's Moore College Annual Lecturers were delivered by Dr Tom Schreiner, Associate Dean for the School of Theology and the James Buchanan Harrison Professor of New Testament Interpretation and Professor of Biblical Theology at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kentucky, USA.
The lectures were on the theme of “The battle for the truth of the gospel” with relation to the Book of Galatians.
In this first lecture, delivered on Monday 5 August 2024, Tom focuses on “Circumcision and the cross”, and shows how the new age ushered in with Christ's death changes everything.
The lecture is followed by a Q&A session.
