  • 2332: Journey to LeHardy Rapids
Singing lake reimagined by Chris Ray (Enisle).
"I used the lake singing recording in quite a few ways (some listed below).
    Opening "steam" sound.
    "Violin" sound.
    303 bassline sound.
    "Bouncing ball" sound.
    "Spring reverb drop" sound."

  • 2330: You say geyser, I say gyser
Vixen geyser reimagined by Nick St. George.
"I decided on this occasion to get 'back to basics', and the bulk of the piece comprises just the original field recording of the geyser and various treatments thereof. For a change, I've kept the spoken word elements to a minimum and the work is more an experiment in pure sound than any attempt at story-telling.
The title came from a conversation I had with my American-born wife on the different ways of pronouncing 'geyser'. The UK and the USA are, after all, "two nations divided by a common language"."

  • 2329: Vixen geyser, Yellowstone
    Recorded by National Park Service.
Vixen geyser in Norris Geyser Basin has a rhythmic, punchy eruption that lasts about four minutes (and the end offers a sonic surprise).

  • 2328: The Call
Coyotes howling reimagined by Richard Watts.
"I wanted to get a sense of wide open spaces and the cold of the night so I use a drone background and a repeated note to represent this. The coyote calls in the original recording build up from single calls to what sounds like a melee so I included that in the piece too."

  • 2326: Whispers near the river
Birds in Yellowstone reimagined by Stephanie Merchak.
"Birds singing give me a sense of calm and tranquillity.
I wanted to create a piece that translated this as well as a feeling of communion with nature.
I did that in Ableton Live.
I created a background pad using the original recording that I time-stretched and transposed then processed with chorus, a couple of resonators, delay and reverb.
I added to that a few sparse notes played on glockenspiel, marimba, bowed vibraphone and wind bells instruments, all of which went through delay and reverb to create a lush sound.
You can also hear the original recording of the dipper and geese, processed with delay and reverb here and there throughout the piece."

  • 2324: Chorus of wolves
Wolves in Yellowstone Park reimagined by Karhide.
"The aim of the track was to create droning synth sounds that matched the pitch of the howl of the wolves making a very dark remix that was then slowed down. The midi parts were generated using the Audio to Midi feature in Ableton Live and then edited before layering the multiple virtual synths. The whole remix mainly used the stock plugins that are available in Live Suite 10 and then mastered in Ozone."
