CLP Category: Replacing the Vichy Republicans
Title: Mitt Romney Is A Vichy Republican Collaborator
Our podcast today places the comments by Mitt Romney, that he was sickened by President Trump’s behavior, into the bigger political context of why the Republican Party is not working for ordinary American citizens.
The conclusion about Romney in this podcast is different than the recent benevolent analysis by Rush Limbaugh, who suggests that Romney is just too stupid to see the Mueller report as exonerating Trump.
Limbaugh asks, “So my question for Mitt Romney, “Sir, are you this obtuse? (read stupid) Do you really, even now, not know what went on here? Do you really still believe that Trump did collude with Russia and wanted to and that they just couldn’t prove it?”
Romney is not stupid. He has a clearly identifiable political ideology of Republican crony capitalism, or global corporatism.
And, Romney is the perfect Republican representative of a privileged elite who benefits from the Republican Party ideology of corporate globalism.
In contrast to Limbaugh, who encourages listeners to continue voting for Republicans, this podcast argues that there is not an imaginary free market conservative wing of the Republicans valiantly fighting for the economic interests of ordinary Americans.
There is only one Republican Party, and that party believes in global corporatism, also known as crony capitalism.
Romney, in other words, is a beneficiary of crony capitalism, and is sickened by Trump’s Make America Great policies because Trump threatens the privileged status of crony capitalism.
