  • Let's Slow it Down a Bit
Today's show is a little calmer, a little slower. Life has been hectic so we thought we could slow it down for this week a bit. We started off Serra's interview with Donna Giraud about her new art show "Together is Always Better". We took a quick ad and psa break and continued with Niko's review of "Suitcase Stories" (going on until the 25th!) and Serra gave some information about the Museum of Vancouver's discounted rates until the end of 2020. After our second quick ad and psa break, Silvana did her review of The Polygon Gallery's "The Third Realm". Serra finished the show by letting everyone know that WIFTV submissions are open until November 20th and talked about the Vancouver Art Gallery's media preview that she attended which was about their current exhibition of Victor Vasarely.

  • We Like What We See
We started off this week's show with an interview that Niko did with Paul Armstrong who is the executive director of Crazy8s. After that, we had two very positive reviews. First one being Serra's review on Studio 58's "The Doll's House Project". Serra actually interviewed one of the actors in this production, Sierra Haynes, so make sure to check out last week's episode for that! After Serra, Silvana did her review on "Brother, I Cry" which was part of VIFF. Fun fact, Serra also did an interview with Jessie Anthony who is the writer, producer and director of Brother, I Cry. If you want to listen to that interview, it's on the episode of September 30th! We finished off the show with some shout-outs to the Discover Dance Series, to VIDF Livestreams and lastly to VSFF Call for submissions. Submit your short film until the 16th!

  • Theatre, Dance, Art
We started today's episode with an amazing interview with the lovely Sloan Thompson. She is the director of Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again. and she gave us a sneak peak into this modern play that is opening tomorrow night at the Frederick Wood Theatre. We will also be doing a ticket giveaway for this show so keep an eye out for that!

We followed that with another great interview with one of the cast members, Samantha Symington, of Trans Scripts, Part I: The Women. This award-winning work stars seven local transgender powerhouses, and is compiled from interviews with more than 70 transgender women in six different countries. We also had Sophie Mueler's debut as one of our new reporters with a review of The Grunt Gallery.

This was a packed show, but I promise it is worth a listen. To end the show we had two reviews of two very different performances. First The Wedding Party, a comedy being put on by the Arts Club, and then Ballet BC's Romeo and Juliet.

  • Fundrive!
Today's show was a special one because we are promoting our annual fundraiser, Fundrive! This year's theme is Crush. Do you have a crush on CiTR? You can show your love by donating so that we can keep doing what we're doing for you with the same great and even better quality! We started out our show today by talking about Fundrive and the amazing prizes you can win if you pledge to our show when donating. After Fundrive, we listened to an interview with one of the creators of CLEO-A giant clitoris puppet learning to love herself. After hearing about the hilarious Cleo, we shouted out some cool events that are happening: The Talking Stick Festival and then The Coastal Dance Festival and lastly Gruesome Playground Injuries. After the shout-outs we listened to a pre-recorded interview that Serra did with Jaime Piercy who is playing Shelby in Boone Dog Production's Steel Magnolias.
