Tonight I had the good fortune of welcoming East Vancouver's Connely Farr & Jay Johnson (Mississippie Live & The Dirty Dirty) to the show for a live session. Since Connely is an articling architect, we got some feedback on the new AMS Nest as well as the new proposal for the Vancouver Art Gallery. I also featured several new albums tonight: I'm particularly excited about new releases from Linda McRae and Francesca Blanchard.

It's First Week at UBC, with an exuberant bass-lovin' DJ playing RIGHT outside the studio. Apparently our soundproofing is not perfect.. So sorry for any exceptional buzzing you might hear tonight!
I was pleased to welcome Andy Gordon, who hails from Kangaroo Bay, NSW, Australia. We had a great chat and heard some tunes from his latest album "New Albion". Prepared to be schooled on colonial Australian history!

Hello folks! First Folk Oasis of September, complete with a fire alarm in our new Student Union Building. Let's hope this won't be a regular occurrence..

Hello folks! Hope you're having a splendid week and enjoying the last days of August. Tonight I featured Vancouver's upcoming Accordion Noir Festival (8th annual) which takes place Sept. 10-13. More about this festival next week! As well, you'll hear on this podcast a new (yes, new!) duet by Texas reprobates Willie Nelson & Kinky Friedman. That alone is worth the price of admission to this here podcast. ;-)
