As the solstice approaches we tip our Folk Oasis touque towards our polka-playing friends who will no longer have their own category at the Grammys. Besides, June is Accordion Awareness Month! 8:30 interview tonight with Jim Byrnes, whose CD release show is June 19 at Richards on Richards. Turns out he's a polka and bratwurst fan too! Who knew??

Campus was vibrating tonight with the AMS Block Party (yr-end student bash) - the Roots onstage across from CITR headquarters. We mellowed out indoors with a live set from local singer-songwriter John Pippus. Classic Gordon Lightfoot vinyl near show's end - he's in town this Friday and Saturday.
