Yes, that umbrella of an arts festival, Bumbershoot, returns to Seattle this Labo(u)r Day weekend so we featured a few of the fine rootsy bands that will be performing. Yes, it's time for the running (er, walking?) of the Birkenstock 500 as assorted music lovers convene at Jericho Beach this weekend. Interviews with Suzie Vinnick and Anne Loree, who will be at VFMF. Special guests live in the studio at 9pm: The Ebony Hillbillies. All the way from NYC! They do a free show at Tom Lee Music Thursday at noon, then you can see 'em all weekend at VFMF. Come on down!

3 interviews on tonight's show! First up at 8:10 was Rennie Sparks of the Handsome Family (they're at Biltmore Cabaret July 15). At 8:30 we spoke to Stacey Earle, who is performing this wknd at Vancouver Island Musicfest. 9:00 we had a great chat with Meghan Cursons of VI Musicfest, followed by a musical preview of that festival.
